Does it rain in your office?
Office dress code was invented in times when without it people would turn up to work in their only pair of daily baggy trousers and a dress DIY'ed out of last year's Xmas table cloth. Why is it still entertained in this day and age though? Not only is the whole suit and tie/penguin belly with a belt hanging around their neck look about 50 years out of place, not only is it super impractical and time consuming to maintain (washing and ironing) but also doesn't really add anything to the business - who cares if the guy selling you insurance over the phone or analysing your stocks is wearing a pink shirt and a tie?
Hi all, I am currently looking for a lightweight jacket for Spring that is considered acceptable for business casual in an office environment.
I have come across this North Face jacket and have taken quite a liking to it. What do you think? Yay or nay? Too bright? Not really acceptable? Good for Spring?
Problem is for every person who can effectively self regulate to something that is appropriate you get a couple more who without a dress code would lower the tonewhile some practises are hideously outdated there needs to be some degree of professionalism to it in many places.
Oh god, don't say that, I've got two Rab jackets - don't let them ruin another brand!
I agreeA rain jacket is absolutely not 'office casual.'
Particularly that one.
