Ok, it's midnight, i'm lying wide awake in bed and I have to be up in 5 and a half hours for work.

I went to bed at 10, to be woken up at 11 by next door. They have a tent up in the garden and the little kids and their friends are obviously kipping in it overnight. They are making a racket and i'm now starting to get annoyed. I don't want to go round, I have a short fuse when I am tired.
Is this out of order or am I being a 'part pooper'

Party pooper.

11pm aint late mate. I'd only complain if it was in the small hours of the morning or 00:30 onwards.

Party pooper tbh, remember when you were young... let the kids have fun and don't be bitter about it, it doesn't sound like its a regular occurance. I'm sure you can miss a few hours sleep once in a while.

you say that but most camp sites across europe (including the UK) say complete silence from 10pm onwards.

id be pretty annoyed myself. i get cranky (working on nights) when people are making a racket at 10am :p

If it's a once off thing then get over it. Better you miss half a nights sleep than fall out with your neighbours over something stupid.

One day you'll want to have a party that finishes late and be glad you didn't say anything today.

My problem is I fall asleep on my way to work and plough my car into an on coming one, wiping them out. Then who's the party pooper?
It must be horrible to be so cynical. You an I both know that whether you drive when you're too tired or not is your responsibility, you think that would hold up in court? "Sorry your honor but some kids kept me up all night but I still chose to drive".

That is a good point.

They throw parties all the time, especially in this weather, until 2-3am but on the weekend. Not got a problem with that, i'm usually out with my mates or have had some beers here so i'm out cold. Tonight is a work night, I cannot believe their parents are allowing this.

It's not like I live on a council estate, it's a really decent area.

Time to pop round.

Actually that's a great idea kenny, 2 birds with one stone, kids get a thrilling night and they go sleep inside. Its these times when a giant cardboard pedobear would come in handy.

Put some earplugs in or shut the window, they can't be that loud surely? Failing that, just make a racket when you get up.

Can't believe some people have suggested calling the police or reporting them.

Put some earplugs in or something. If you don't want to do that then go to the neighbours and kindly ask them if their kids could be a bit quieter.

Don't waste the authorities time, and don't be an idiot about as some people are suggesting in this thread.
