I'm finally going to order a PC now. I have exactly £970 in my account so thats my limit.

I need everything apart from an OS, a mouse and a keyboard.

This comes to £969.88 (free shipping).

I'm going to order it ASAP to get it delivered to my house on Monday (I'm still at Uni).

Thanks,
Matt Wilde

[EDIT] This will be used for high end gaming and watching Blu Rays. Should it run BF3 ok?

Yeah I don't plan to do any overclocking, although I hear that the 6950 can be turned into a 6970. Is this recommended?

Thanks,
Matt Wilde

seems easy enough,

you dont even have to use the 6970 clock speeds, just unlocking the extra shaders is a big boost.

Cool, Ok, I'll save that link.

I'll wait for a bit in case anyone else has anything to say and then I'll go ahead and order it.

Another thing, the HDMI cable. Is it worth it? I've heard there isn't any difference between them and saving a few quid would be handy (typical student).

Thanks,
Matt Wilde

It's come to putting the motherboard in the case. There are no direct instructions, just a bag of about 30 screws and other bits and bobs

fit the I/O shield plate, a good firm push will see it click into place.

then look at the mounting holes in the motherboard, add a standoff to the motherboard tray in the case to line up with each hole.

fit the ram, cpu and cooler to the motherboard and place the it into the case, double check that all the ports are free from obstruction because the I/O shield plate has little bits of metal that can get in the way.

add a screw throught the board and into the standoff for each hole.

A lot of them standoffs are already in the case it looks like.

Do I just add the others to holes without them in the case? Think theres about 4 holes with no standoffs in.

only if there is a hole in the motherboard in the same location.

Ok thanks. Now I have done all the standoffs. The last standoff won't fit in the hole properly. It is literally sticking out by less than 1mm. Is this a problem?

There are lots of standard silver screws, red rings and some black plastic screws. I'm not sure what to do with these.

Ok, thanks. I'm on the HDD now.

Another bag came with the case with a label saying 'For 2.5 HDD'. The HDD I have is a 3.5 so do I need these?

There are only 4 screws and 4 rubber things and there are 3 holes a side on the HDD.

Thanks.

Thanks, I have just installed the GPU.

It came with a Crossfire cable (which I don't need) and two other things which look like they connect to the card. I can't find it in the manual to say if I need them or not.

Sorry, one thing. I have plugged in the Blu Ray drive.

I have connected the SATA Data cable perfectly but the SATA power cable is very small. It was 4 pins. I'm not sure where this has to go.

[EDIT] Don't worry. Found it. Thanks.

*bump* I'm on plugging all these little things in. The manual isn't very helpful.

I'm just seeing what things fit where and putting them in.

Does anyone have any advice?

Thanks.
