Is this the correct way to set up a roaming wifi network?

I have:

-Netgear DGN1000
-Netgear WN802t

Both are set to the same SSID, WPA2-PSK, the same password (clearly) and using different channels, 1 and 11.

The WN802t has an option for bridging which I don't quite understand, but it's disabled anyhow.

Should this setup enable me to roam from one location to the other without interruption?

Should work, you want to have about a 15-20% overlap in the network ranges so you don't drop so location, location, location!

You probably still have to contend with the way that various devices decide what wifi access point to connect to ... I decided that the wifi signal from my N56 wasn't strong enough in my living room to sustain iPlayer etc to a tablet reliably (there's 2 thick and solid 1900s walls bewteen living room and router and I found iPlayer would pause to rebuffer aorund every 5-10 mins which was irritating!) so added a TPLink nano router in the living room (already had wired connection there available to connect it to) and that's set up as you say - same SSID and password, Asus router on 11 and TPlink nano-router on 1 - however even though inssider shows the signal in living room on channel 1 as stronger than channel 11 by phone (and sometimes tablet) seems to prefer to connect to channel 11!

Well that's the theory and that's how I set it up as well initially - but in the end I created a separate SSID

Some NIC's would just try and hold onto a bad signal for too long and the Wifi printer got very confused

How does the wireless signal radiate from access points? If I have one in the bedroom upstairs, will it cover areas in rooms below?
