Is this worth reporting?

Today I was on a road in Liverpool with 2 lanes in my direction. I was in the left lane, approaching a line of stationary cars at a red light. A car in the right lane accelerates past me and cuts between me and the stationary cars at the last second. I slammed on the brakes and narrowly avoided hitting him, and gave him a blast of the horn (perhaps a bad idea considering this was Liverpool).

So the guy gets out of his car (a silver Jag X-type), comes over to mine, starts pulling at the door handle and banging on the window, demanding I open the door. After a while of me ignoring him he goes back to his car and drives off.

Would you report this to the police? There were plenty of witnesses but I didn't get any registrations (except for the ****'s X-type) as i was pretty shaken up.

Cheers :)

I would have opened the door as hard as I could, then drove off :p.

But I don't know how far reporting him would actually get, just wondering if he did actually commit an offence.

You should have run over his foot, then opened your window and keyed his jag as you drove past!

No, don't bother reporting him. I mean you could, but it'd be a waste of your time. Even if you had got the guys reg. number, name, date of birth and vital statistics i doubt the police would have been able to do anything.

a guy did similar to my brother, but my brother had his window open and got punched int he face.

it went to court but inbetween the incident and it going to court the guy was sent to prison for something else i think.

Report him. He's committed affray if you feel he was about to become violent, and if it was in the town centre there's a strong chance this will be on CCTV.

At the very least it'll show him he can't get away with it.

Go get him a visit from the plod ;)

Cheers Policeman Killsta, i was hoping you'd reply :D

Don't think he was on CCTV unfortunately, it was slightly outside the centre. I'm going to report him on the way home tonight anyway.

As per previous thread, you should have accosted him with a rolled up women's weekly. However, be prepared that it could be used against you.

However, we all know this didn't really happen, as it would have been all over the media if it did.

This cotton wool is lovely and warm :)

Do you accidently not bother to read things people type or do you do it deliberately? :)

My point in that thread was that people being brutally assaulted/murdered whilst driving is rare, not that idiots are rare. As can be seen from this case, although it didn't make the news, he didn't need an AK47 either.

Don't you have somebody to go and batter? ;)
