I'm just south of Oxford on Virgin (formally NTL bit of the network) and it's all good here.
Actually I'm getting great speeds at the moment.

ok what do i do with these numbers? put em in me router settings or lappy and pc etc

Poke about your router and find the options for "Static DNS". Bung em in there on lines one and two. Stick one of Virgin Media's DNS addresses on line 3 if you have it. They are 194.168.8.100
& 194.168.4.100 (for the ex-NTL areas anyway)

cool will do so what do they actualy do?

DNS servers are like....err...internet telephone books! :p If you type for example "http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/" your browser will have to ask a nameserver what the IP of that address is.

Basically they tell your browser/whatever where to go to find things. (unless I've got that vastly wrong).

Virgin Medias DNS servers tend to be online and offline a lot, at least for me anyway.

I use these numbers, whats the difference between these and the "open" ones you provided?

Offline or otherwise unreachable a lot less often.

Newsleecher. It operates at 4 Megabytes per second download.
