is wii the best?

The good thing about the Wii selling so much is that developers will want to make games to make money from it's huge user base. The GameCube suffered because it didn't sell very well and so 3rd party developers gave up on it.

I can see the Wii dominating for quite a few years, once developers start making more games it'll just keep on improving.

The whole Wii sales thing is just a blip because allot of people who wouldn't normaly buy a console have bought a Wii because of the gimmicky control system and some clever marketing by nintendo. But these people will not buy the next big Racing, Fighting or FPS game on the Wii and ultimately the Wii will not be sustainable. Also if and when mainstream games do come to the Wii everyone will see that the worst version will be the Wii version. and will probably decide to get an xbox or ps3 instead.

I was ready to write a whole reply on why you're wrong on so many levels, but it's so boring having to argue with people who bang on about it being a gimmick (which, when you play something like Metroid or Mario, you know is ********).

To the OP: my missus loves the Wii. It's the only console she's played on in recent years bar DDR on the PS2. She played Rayman with me for 3 hours straight (not bad for a gimmick, eh? ;)). That's about the best endorsement I can give it if you're talking about non-gamers playing it. It's also the only console in a few years that I've actually got immersed in to play for longer than 30 mins.

Up until march of this year, I was a solid anti console, PC only gamer.

I played my mates wii, just wii sports, in fact.

a week later I had sourced a Wii of my own. At the moment the game getting the most attention is Mario Galaxy.

'nuff said.

This is why the Wii is great.
I flew home with my Wii and I'm looking forward to a week of fun and games with the family. How many people will fly home with their heavy PS3s/360s o play tennis with their family?

TV is so pap we don't bother with a license at home, or where i live in Switzerland. We just rent movies or play the Wii. Traditionally we would play scrabble, or monopoly. Now we will all play Wii, maybe rent mario party or some such for the week.

Everyone I know with a Wii plays it regularly.

If you're into more traditional PS2 style games then go for the 360 - it fills the PS2 shaped gap better than any other console. Get the Wii for great first party games and multiplayer with mates in the same room - here it can't be touched.

I own all three consoles and game on the pc and (imo of course) the only essential must have game to come out this generation is Mario Galaxy. It's a gaming milestone.

Galaxy has impressed me far, far more than anything i've played on the 360 or PS3 (it's one of those games that seriously makes you wonder what other developers actually do with their time),

goes away and plays some Bioshock, Orangebox , Gears, PGR4, CoD4 etc. and then thinks...............

i know what developers do with their time, and it's not making kiddy friendly games like Mario Galaxy, thankfully.

I think if you're a PC gamer then the Wii is probably a better choice, a lot of the 360 games are availiable on the PC which may put you off buying a 360, I know I prefer the orange box, bioshock and C&C 3 on the PC, mainly due to the controls. I think the controls wouldn't bother me if I had never played the PC versions but I've always been a PC gamer.

I think the Wii has a lot more to offer in terms of multiplayer experiance with a single console, most Wii games support 2+ players and there are a lot of games designed for this type of experiance such as Raving Rabbids 2, Wii Sports, Wii Play etc.

Three of the games you mention are available on PC, and better on PC.

I've got a decent PC, 360 and Wii. I think the PC is great for serious gaming and the Wii for having a laugh with mates, but the 360 doesn't really offer anything I need that my PC doesn't.

glad some one feels the same as me I haven''t touched my 360 since forza2. I don't like halo 3 and gear's of war is so repetitive and dull (I think the most over rated game of all time). The Wii has held my interest on and off as the as the few good games have come out (mainly Nintendo games) but I always end up back on my pc.

i have pc for fps and rts and a wii i have been gamming since back in the c64/speccy days and

zelda tp, mp3 are some of the best games I have played in years on any format zelda tp has 40+ hrs of gameplay !
