Is your 20p coin worth £50?

I've heard about collectors paying up to £450, so it's really up to you. The main problem is at the moment most of the true collectors and dealers have already got stocks of these coins, it's only recently that the media has got a hold of the story and pushed up prices. As they have been around since December from what I've heard.

I would personally sell now if you could get £500, once the story dies down the prices will lower and will only rise again as years pass. I expect you'll be talking 10-20 years for a good return, although if you do this, I would suggest getting some proper coin storage advice so it stays in perfect condition.

I found one in a till yesterday, how do I get it authenticated by the royal mint? saw one going on ebay with certificate of authenticity for about £1500, so this would be damn good ;)

I've got two today, where's the best place?

Also I seem to have apennie without a date stamp!

If they are in excellent condition a collector is your best bet, ring around a few and play them off each other for the best price. If the condition is not very good, eBay with a high BIN (Buy It Now) price and best offers is the way to go. Using the completed listing search to see what others have gone for recently.

As for the penny are you certain it's got no date? Might be worth something if it doesn't.

Contact them, I'm sure they will help. Make sure to phone the right place though, what with all this London Mint talk.
