ISIL, ISIS, Daesh discussion thread.

Because he was trying to say that nobody around the world celebrated and all cases of this were faked.

I believe I've seen footage of known mossad agents in new york celebrating 9/11. What does that prove?

Or you have seen footage of some people celebrating which some tin foil hatter has said are mossad agents celebrating 9/11 and confirmation bias makes you believe it?

Its time we stopped pussy footing around with these noobs and sent in ground troops, with the aim of staying there for 40-50 years.

At least that way some of our soldiers might crack off with the natives and produce a more tolerant off-spring instead of the freaks if ISLAM we have now or a general Islamic reformation.

IS claiming Nice attacker was a "soldier of IS".

Time to give Raqqa a TLAM reset and stop all trade with Saudi Arabia.

Picture is emerging of a guy that flipped. Seems to have had some mental problems, petty criminal, his wife divorced him, he lost his job and was drifting. Not on any terrorist watch list. Not conclusive yet but seems to be a guy that lost it rather than being IS. IS always claim to be behind any incident as that gives them credo with their supporters.

Lot of complications with sending in ground forces none the least only Russia has anything like agreement with Assad in that respect. Without a massive army on the ground you are talking a long war of attrition with high casualty rates as well* - the west has been slowly moving towards where that is more feasible though by using intelligence to find out who are their tacticians and eliminate them one way or another.

* Bare in mind that even many of the groups that work with us currently would not tolerate a foreign ground invasion, even though they are happy for foreign support, and would fight against it.

ISIS have barely any old tanks left. Try they've been destroyed from the air. They have very little resistance. The Iraqi Army gave taken a few strongholds back recently. With NATO troops on the ground this mess would be put to bed sharpish.

The foundations need to be removed before anything else happens.

You don't understand how ISIS operate - they wouldn't even at their strongest last 5 minutes in direct conventional warfare - they wouldn't have been going toe to toe using tanks with an invading force ever.

The only way to destroy them in that way is to systematically take them apart leaving them nowhere to run.

Nato troops wouldn't quickly and systematically beat them. What will happen is yet another long and protracted urban guerrilla war where lots of people will die from heinous wounds from the likes of IED and ambush attacks.

They've been in raqqah and mosul for years now, they've developed a network of defenses and tunnels. It wouldn't be easy.

Lots of people have mental issues or face adverse conditions, the difference is when it happens to a Muslim they start wondering “what would Mo’ do?

If Islam didn't have a god at its core it would have been banned years ago. But it does, so "something something deeply held something respect".

Problem with taking those places as well is that unless NATO troops implement a water tight perimeter the bulk of ISIS forces will just scatter and regroup elsewhere while a few "martyrs" would be left along with IED and other booby traps to make retaking as painful as possible.

But that is exactly how they have been operating.

They have been rolling as a land force for the past three years. That's how they've managed to control towns and cities in the open. This is nothing like the insurgency.

In fact many of the insurgency who were fighting US troops are now fighting ISIS.
