Issue with Samsung PM961

This is really weird.

Motherboard is a Gigabyte Z97X Gaming 7. The motherboard cannot see the drive, but Windows can. I can put stuff on it, take it off but cannot use it as a boot drive, which was the purpose of purchase, as the motherboard cannot see it.

Been looking online and cannot find a fix, can anyone help or advise?

It's going to have to be sold otherwise.

Smells like you're not in UEFI boot mode but one of the legacy options.

Booting from NVME/M2 is normally only supported in UEFI mode

I had no issues with mine but I'm using a very new chipset Z270.

I had issues getting it to work with windows 7 I had to use windows 10.

Hi,

I have the same board. When you use the M.2 slots, it clashes/disables some of the onboard SATA ports. The manual explains how it works.

For now, try this..

Remove all SATA cables, connect up the Samsung drive, boot form USB. Are you on the latest F20 BIOS?

Flash F20, then do a BIOS reset.
