Italian Grand Prix 2012, Monza - Race 13/20

Was well reported Red Bull broke the agreement, maybe you have lost it?

100% NO :)

Ah, thought he meant the shutdown, as they have only just come back.

that's what I thought as last year MSC and brawn was saying rb was not sticking to the RRA rules during the break.

Mind you Montezemolo has now come out with
"How long is the race, an hour and a half? Maybe this is too long for young people," the Italian said."

Just lol

Did they actually prove that RBR broke any agreement? I know it was the rumour as to why RBR left FOTA, but that was all it was, a rumour.

Didn't Ferrari also leave FOTA at the same time under the same rumour?

And I think Luca needs to get a clarification on 'cheating'.

Ferrari left FOTA before Red Bull, because they believed Red Bull did not stick to the agreement, there was no rumour that Ferrari broke the agreement.

"I don't think it's good to race in July and August at 2pm when the people are in the sea or on vacation," he said. "Soccer plays at 6, 7, 8 o'clock."

And for the first time he voiced Ferrari's concerns that a rival had broken the terms of the sport's Resource Restriction Agreement (RRA), which lays out limits for how much research and development teams can conduct.

"I want to have rules that permit us to spend less, because I don't think if you say, this is limited to spend… How can you control this?" he said

"I think in the recent past, somebody has cheated on this. So I prefer to have clear rules that allow to spend less, particularly in something that is not crucial for the spectators or the competition."

He did not expand on the identity of the team at which he was pointing the finger, but it is well known within F1 that Ferrari believe Red Bull have been breaking the RRA.

He also said Ferrari would remain in F1 as long as it was true to its ethos.

"Ferrari has been in F1 for more than 60 years, the success in F1 is crucial," he said.

"Ferrari will remain in F1 if F1 is F1 and not a race for electric cars or games. It is innovation and technology and if you have to spend money you spend it for the advanced research and not for something that is nothing to do with competition."

He added: "We want an F1 with less cost. Tell me why we have to spend a huge amount of cost to spend 24 hours in the wind tunnel to do a small wing flap that for the public is zero, for the television is zero, for me as a road-car manufacturer it is less than zero because we will never use this for the road car.

"So it is better to say due to the economic crisis in the world, you are allowed to use the wind tunnel, to use an example, just 10 days a month. If you are the best, you are the best.

"I think we have to bring back some tests, because we used to do too many tests, now we do zero, we have to be in the middle because if I want to give a chance to a new driver who is young, then how can I do it, I would never put a young driver to Ferrari without giving him the possibility to do this.

"All together we have to look ahead, starting from the point of view that we have an economic crisis in the world and the world is different from some years ago.

"I want a successful F1, to [allow Ferrari to] remain in F1 because F1 is an important part of the Ferrari life."

Easier to put what he is saying rather than deuse missing bits out.

joe saward wrote an article a while back suggesting the majority of the paddock think red bull cheated, he's generally pretty clued up.

Its a FOTA agreement, not an FIA rule. Breaching it is not cheating.

Just to be clear, I've no idea if RBR did or didn't break the agreement, and wouldn't be surprised f they did, but all we have is accusations that some people are interpreting as fact.

Perhaps that's the biggest problem with the RRA, what's the point in having an agreement if you have no way of proving who has or hasn't stuck to it?

My thoughts.. Highlights suck!

Mclaren one two if they don't break down

Knew this would be a bad track for lotus :-(,guess it's the best race for the ban.
Either dambrosio is dire or the lack of testing really is hampering new drivers... Probably and

Alonso shouldn't have given massa a tow

Not really expecting a good race Tbh because of mc and lotus

Wow, although he doesn't gain from it so a little pointless?

Not sure if it works quite so well in single seaters but in NASCAR the benefit of the 'tandem' bump drafting is huge, 10+mph easy due to the way the airflow works, I'd imagine even in the single seater the front cars top speed would be a bit higher, but big risk with it...

even if alonso did have the fastest car everything so far has shown if you dont have clear air your tyres wont last anywhere near aslong as the guy at the front

Yeah I've seen it in NASCAR and been forced to do it in GT5 Nascar bit on the licences :p

It was odd that in the clip, he caught up so quick initially so wasn't sure why he didn't pull out to overtake.

I predict whoever leads the end of lap 1 will win the race :)
Will button get bullied by Hamilton, I hope they both get off the line well just to see how tough they get with each other :)

Button might not yeild and give hammy the final push out mclaren with a mighty teamate smash in the 1st corner. Even if it's just a race inccident you can already see a big fallout.
