Italian Grand Prix 2012, Monza - Race 13/20

Watching highlights on BBC - when Alonso tries to overtake Schumacher into Acsari (Lap 4), he gets a great run and pulls out, then stays in sixth gear before falling back behind him.

Anyone got any ideas? :confused:

Just watched the highlites on BBC(GREAT) and Lewis was all happy when interviewed by Lee..
and did anyone get the hint from Lewis? He is staying at Mclaren ;) you heard it here first :)

Re: people moaning at Hamilton... The guy is being booed the whole time; I think I'd feel a little bummed out if a bunch of Ferrari worshippers were booing me after I just won a race.

Lewis Hamilton is now one of 7 drivers that won all 4 classic race tracks: Monaco, Silverstone, Spa and Monza

Michael Schumacher (Monza 5x, Spa 6x, Silverstone 3x, Monaco 5x --> 19 wins)
Ayrton Senna (Monza 2x, Spa 5x, Silverstone 1x, Monaco 6x --> 14 wins)
Alain Prost (Monza 2x, Spa 2x, Silverstone 5x, Monaco 4x --> 13 wins)
Juan Manuel Fangio (Monza 3x, Spa 3x, Silverstone 1x, Monaco 2x --> 9 wins)
David Coulthard (Monza 1x, Spa 1x, Silverstone 2x, Monaco 2x --> 6 wins)
Sebastian Vettel (Monza 2x , Spa 1x, Silverstone 1x, Monaco 1x --> 5 wins)
Lewis Hamilton (Monza 1x, Spa 1x, Silverstone 1x, Monaco 1x --> 4 wins)

Just watched this as I was out today.

Epic drive by Hamilton. Another dominant McLaren race where we hardly saw them.

Massive shame for Button :(. He would have been caught by Perez though.

Epic drive from Perez. He fully deserves that Ferrari space, although I don't think he should take it or will even be offered it as I'm convinced Ferrari are banking on having Vettel there in 2014.

Massa doing his job perfectly. Although I was surprised by Ferrari tip toeing around the switch. Its not against the rules any more so they were fully entitled to get on the radio and say "let Alonso past".

Poor show from Kimi. Every time I was him he was being caught and passed.

Not sure on the Alonso Vettel incident, I'd need to see more info around what was Vettels normal racing line. Was a close call though.

And bad luck for RBR. Basically it looked like Ferrari wrote a script for the perfect weekend for Alonso, and handed a copy to everyone but forgot Perez :)

Can anyone beat Alonso now?

Pretty exciting race. Easy drive from lewis, shame for button. Still a many horse race for the championship. I'm tempted to put money on kimi winning the drivers championship without a 1st place finish :p
