Anyway, half the viewers tuned in to MotoGP last year compared to 2013, regardless of records. Isn't that more of a loss than F1 has suffered here in recent years?

I think there are good reasons for that though. This was MotoGP's move from a free to air (BBC) to pay (BT Sport), and a dip in viewing figures always happens when viewers are monetised in this manner.

Secondly, the platform of BT Sport was still relatively nascent at that time, and the reach was not as great as Sky, for example.

Well to be fair, F1 cars do have to be able to run for 2 hours and carry the fuel to do so. MotoGP is nuts though, some of the best racing you will watch.

To combat the F1 fuel Motogp bikes lean 62% or more
It's the chase I love. Will Marquez Catch Rossi, will Lorenzo fade after 15 laps. Will Cal fall off again
It will cost me £300+ to watch F1 at becketts corner. But only £99 for motogp...

And there is not one rider I hate. They are all balls to the wall kind of guys
I think F1 could do with the same tire rules as Motogp.
