Exactly. Ricciardo's late move against Bottas was about the only highlight for me, I rated it 5 and that was probably too generous.

when Rosberg wins by passing Hamilton off the line it's because Hamilton got a bad start. When Hamilton beats rosberg by passing him off the line it's because Hamilton is a far superior driver and Rosberg sucks. This forum does make me laugh sometimes

Start is the start. Name a race where Rosberg lost pole to Hamilton at the first corner and went on to beat him on merit during the race?

i think if next season is the same as this season I'll give up on watching f1 race weekends. The Mercedes dominance is wearing me thin now. The title fight isn't even that interesting as its not two great drivers battling it out. Rosberg is simply consistent and has had less issues. It's not even close on talent.

Maybe next year will be the shot in the arm that f1 needs but the realist in me thinks it will be more of the same.

Seven seasons on the spin with as good as a one horse race has worn me down, I hope to god that the 2017 regulations make several teams in the hunt to win races regularly besides Mercedes, especially the one driven by Nicola.;)

I'd love to see the FIA separate the drivers and constructors championships, making it so that any car can easily fit any driver and make the drivers change teams every race weekend.

Im wonding if the potential take over of F1 by a media company will make for better races?

Hopefully. I can't help thinking that when you have a financial institution/company owning it all they want to do is maximise the amount they can pull out of it first and foremost and everything else second whereas a media company will be after promoting and pushing it as their main focus. (Obviously whilst making as much money as possible but it wont be as extreme.)

Bernie has done a lot for F1 and made it as big as it is today. But i think over the last few years its almost like he's going backwards with some of the things he's said and done so i think its time for someone else to carry it forward and make it better.

Don't hold your breath. They'll probably ignore the fans and introduce things they believe will improve the show only for it to fall flat on its face.

Lets be honest the era of fuel saving/tyres/cost cutting has ultimately impacted the 'pinnacle of motorsport'. I know we can't go back to the days of an engine a day and unlimited testing but it's pretty obvious that the current rules play to whoever gets the best car out of the blocks first as you are always in the drivers seat.

2017 is make or break for me. I think if it follows the same pattern as the last 5-6 years I'll stick to checking results after the race weekend.

The problem is though that you need to stop the sport from getting out of control with costs otherwise its boom and bust for teams. The field just would shrink and shrink as teams wouldn't be able to punch cash into all those engines/etc. But you are right, those days were better because costs weren't mad, and the tech still pretty new so you saw some left field stuff, but on the cheap.

I scored Monza two out of ten. The reason it scored as high as two was the very entertaining Alonso radio messages, they are simply brilliant. It was yet another Mercedes demonstration outing. Nico had the race in the bag after the first 100 meters. It was Lewis's turn to show the world how dominant the Merc is by cruising home to second. Fingers crossed this crowd that are looking to buy a slice of F1 give it the boot up the back side it needs. How long can F1 continue in this nonsense format?

What, like the best team winning? Like Mercedes are doing now, like Red Bull did before that, Renault then Ferrari before...

The problem for me isn't the same team winning, but the lack of action anywhere in the field during most races, even when teams and cars are quite close on the track. DRS doesn't count as an exciting overtake in my book.

I can see why they are making F1 cars faster, the format is quickly becoming obsolete. GP2 cars are nearly as quick and are far more exciting in nearly every way.

There was a time, admittedly a while ago, when a team could develop their car and maybe catch up mid season.
I think the amount of analysis they can do would now stop that. I mean Ferrari have a decent budget but can't catch Merc.

The gp2, gp3, Porsche supercup, motogp and rallycross races were all very good this weekend. So it's something about the f1 rules, probably allows too much technology difference.

Meh, 3 out of 10,

Only as Hamilton slipping up provided a minor piece of intrigue
Ricardo's move

Monza is monza. Its all about the car.

Such is f1. Its not an entertaining format.
Don't even think it's massively worse than before. (I can't remember)

Too much money, too reliable, too finely tuned

Many more interesting formula. But why change it when it's making money?
