I think the real issue is the conservative race settings which drop the performance of the cars well lower than what's seen in the qualifying sessions. The car has speed in itself but maybe reliability concerns strike and limit the racing performances.

A wet P2. If it is a dry quali/race they aren't going to have much setup data. That said, the forecast looks very changeable. Great stuff.

Mercedes comfortably had the lead pace in P1 (even though in the last 5 minutes they didn't finish top as the track dried).

Ferrari were fast in Bahrain, Canada, Austria, Germany, Belgium and now expected in Italy. There are also more circuits to come and one can never know.
So, "two track ponies" is rather disrespectful and dishonest rudeism.

Well, it isn't entirely, as Ferrari only managed to win one of the past races that you list. But they might claw back the two track pony title if they win on Sunday.

Quali should be close today between Mercedes and ferrari. If it rains tomorrow I don’t think it’ll be that close. Ferrari’s best chance to win this season though.

Huge huge F3 crash. Over the tyres, takes out the fence. That was horrible. Lucky to get out of that one. Interestingly we aren’t getting a replay anymore unless they know the driver is ok. That’s new.

Edit: why oh why is that stupid bump on that corner. Whoever put that there should be fired. Literally launched the car. Halo probably saved him there. The guy looked pretty shook up.

Yeah that was big...

Having such a big kerb on parabolica (or a corner like that) does seem like a stupid idea

I’m all for enforcing track limits, but gravel and grass, not a launcher into the fence. The more I watch the replay the more I think halo stopped his head hitting the barrier.

I believe there was a few marshals where the car landed as well, hope they're ok :(

Is anyone watching this part of Leclerc and Vettel racing carts? It’s cringeworthy

Yeah I believe it's from earlier in the season, cringggeeee

The FIA are damn lucky if he’s ok, last weeks terrible accident you can argue was a sequence of events which couldn’t be foreseen or prevented (yes maybe gravel but that’s for another day) that crash today is totally on their head. Wasn’t like he was even that far off the track!

Just seen it, absolutely shocking launch into the air, unbelievable! That bump HAS to be removed before anyone else gets on track.

Edit, yep its gone

Jesus! Just seen the replay at begining of practice 3 of that crash. I caught the guy getting into the medical car and rewound it. Did not expect to see a car flying through the air!

If they left that car launcher there you can guarantee no one else would run wide.

The problem is that the drivers will not respect track limits. So they put in physical barriers, and then you get unforseen consequences like launching cars into the air, or bouncing off fences. The FIA have to make it totally against the drivers interest to go off track, and if that means more cars not finishing because they are stranded in a gravel trap, then so be it.
