50/50 for me. Hamilton gave him space on the way into the first part, then squeezed him into the second part. Obviously the kerb threw Verstappen over Hamilton, so it's not like Verstappen was trying to take out Hamilton, but it was unnecessarily tight and had a sense of inevitability.

No one was predominantly to blame and either of them could have avoided it. I doubt either will be penalised.
 
Ahh yes, Max purposefully lifted his car up and dropped it on Lewis’ head!

Lock him up for attempted murder.

It’s almost like motorsport is dangerous and literally anything can happen, there was no intent from max to get that outcome so people need to quit with this ********.
 
Max chose not to back out of an untenable position. Again. Then chose to drive over the sausage kerbs, so yeah, his actions cause it to fly.

Attempted Murder, probably not unless your a Lewis fanboy on *******. Tactical foul most likely.

He's fast, but has his old mans anger problem. Lando should give him some maturity lessons.
 
So apparently Verstappen has nowhere else to go...

Other than over the kerbs like he did while chasing Ricciaddo down earlier in the same race.

Also telling that the earlier angle had his car on top of Hamilton with the left rear spinning as he boots the throttle. They cut it before it gets to that point on the later angle where you can see the wheel on Hamilton's helmet...

You can't treat a chicane like this as separate corners, the line through the first part determines the line through the second.

This is how it should be but given what we've seen so far this season I expect penalties.
 
Herbert saying that he would have known there wasn't going to be a gap there before he even got there, and wouldn't have done it unless he was going to fire it up the inside and have fingers crossed he'd get away with it.
 
Only really started following F1 this year so I dont know a whole lot about it BUT if this is deemed to be Verstappen's fault can they deduct points? Like whats the potential punishment?

He took avoiding action with Riccardo. Not with Hamilton at the same place. Or on lap 1 where he shoved him off at the second chicane.

He's dangerous. Still.
 
Having re-watched the replay a few times, and the replay of the mirror incident on lap one, I’m inclined to say Max should have backed out and gone over the kerbs.
