If you want to do that you usually use a security tape on the outside of the package. I know we do on every order we send, states something like inspect contents if seal broken.

A warranty sticker seems a bit of a strange choice to me...oh well I'm going to break it anyway and hope I don't need to use the warranty on the box ;)

just swapped from a 7950gx2 to a 8800GTX all i've done is benchmark at the mo... point of note this is on a working system withh all my rubbish installed.

running on a DS4
C2D E6700
7950 with cpu @ 3.0ghz 3D06 8090
8800 with cpu @ 2.67ghz 3D06 9515

there is a marked difference and the 8800 is far more future proof.

time to ebay my 7950 me thinks

Why a better score remember its only 1 card imagine 2 of these thats what you goto remember with his gx2.
 
yea, i'm not overly impressed at the moment but i'm sure if it was on a clean install i'd be over 10'000 and if my ram didn't have a fit every time i tried to moderately overclock my pc! role on dx10.... not that i can afford vista now tho lol
 
Said it before in the other threads, do not base the cards performance on 3D Mark, its talent lies in *real* games, its not an overly quick card on its own or in SLI in 3DMark tbh. My 7900GTX's in SLI scored higher than 1 8800GTX in my rig but the difference in games like Oblivion/FEAR/NWN2/BF2142 @ 2560x1600 is phenominal, then adding the second card, well... you can imagine.

That's what I'm looking for since I'm hoping to setup a Triple Head 2 Go system which is 3 x 1280 x 1024, i.e. less pixels than 2560x1600.

Should be plenty of power for that...

i pc had a fit when i installed the card so had to put everything back to stock haven't gone back into the bios yet. (think it's a ram thing)


edit: my stickers outside on the box were sealed however the seal on the static proof bag had been broken!!!
 
Lets face it those 3D scores are crap, not much more than a GX2, we all know they are crap scores end off, we don't need ppl posting 'oh my god those are crap, expected higher' etc... as its gaming where it counts, and in games these things decimate every other card on the planet. :D
 
J1nxy, did you buy the air cooled card? If so, how quiet is the card? I'm considering buying one but noise is a big issue for me.

i know this wasn't to me, however i have the air cooled card, i can hear it's high pitched wine when it's being pushed but it's quieter than my 7950 was.

Currently it very quiet but thats because I'm at work and its sat on my desk.

Just remember that every employee has the right to take Dependency leave, Emergency leave, sick leave and might even have an industrial accident at work(slipping over wast paper bin/wet floor...;)
