** It's Finally Coming! Much Eye Candy! **

I don't think i have ever said this in my life yet. But that monitor's booty has got it goin' on!

Aside from the gimmicky 'gamer' look this monitor is essentially the same as the Acer Predator X34 isn't it?

What I find interesting is that ROG products are generally over-priced for what they are, yet this monitor is priced just £10 more than the Acer.

Thanks for the reply.

According to this its 200Hz...

I'm guessing this g-sync thing is pretty good

That TV is not 200hz. Its 60hz with motion interpolation like every other TV. 200hz clear motion is just the buzz name samsung has given to its motion interpolation to confuse people. Essentially what it does is insert extra frames between the frames of the original 60hz source to smooth out motion. It works great for sports but looks crap when viewing anything else (the soap opera effect) and is rubbish for gaming as it is a form of post processing that introduces input lag. TVs in general have high input lag as they are jam packed with post processing hardware and software although most have gaming or PC modes that disable these features leaving you with a 60hz panel which probably has much worse pixel response times then a decent gaming monitor.

Gaming monitors don't do any interpolation, in this case the monitor is capable of taking a 100hz input source and displaying it on the screen. Asus will also have gone to great lengths to insure that the chain from input to display is as efficient as possible to insure minimal input lag as well as tweaking overdrive voltages to optimize pixel response times. And then gsync is thrown in as well which brings its own benefits.

Excellent summing up, was going to post something similar but you beat me to it...

I can see why non-tech savvy people get confused by the flagrantly dishonest marketing spiel of the TV manufacturers though

The only ugly thing about it is the stand imo, otherwise from the front it looks pretty alright/ minimal. I'm not a fan of the faux copper circle on the back of it either, but would hardly ever see the back anyway. I would use this thing with a VESA monitor arm in any case, so the stand is a non-issue for me :)
