i didnt realise the back had so many cables! being a n00b, did/do you need a separate JVC ISO connector to interface it with the speakers/amp in the car?

It looks worse than it is. Mine just plugged straight into the ISO connector. The other wires (RCAs) are just if you want to fit an amp or two.

I dont know anything about car radios.

Can someone suggest a reasonable priced DAB radio with connections for an ipod?

Hey lordmike, could you do a few checks when you get it setup mate?

I want to know if when playing a cd/mp3 track, and say you turn the car ignition off, when you restart does the track start from the beginning or continue where you left off?

Also whats the scrolling like on the id3 tags? some pics of the gui would be nice.

410 sounds rather appealing tbh.

L0rdMike, is the faceplate not the same size as the DIN height? (looks overside in this photo). I thought it was more flush fitting than that but it looks as though it sticks out... is it missing a surround fascia?

also, whats that thing just below it that says "push" :p

The thing under it is my Toyota cup holder and a little tray.

The head unit is pretty big and does over hang a small bit, I had to take the surround thing off as it wouldnt fit with it on.

had a look at the demo unit in halfords yesterday... i didnt realise the faceplate was going to be so reflective shiney. its not going to fit in with the rest of the dash. bummer :(

has anyone else made the commitment and bought it?

L0rdMike, have you installed the TFT alongside the unit yet?

When you fit the jap stereo cage thing, put some washers behind it and it'll bring the stereo out by a couple of mm which allows you to fit the surround without any problems
