It's snowing...again!!

You're having a laugh - there is what, a couple of inches of snow? And you're taking the day off work. Dear me.
Nice attitude. If I had to drive today I'd be more concerned about other people than my own driving. There's enough numptys on the road in normal conditions so I wouldn't want to risk some idiot sliding into me thanks very much. :)

That said my mates got hold of an old Frontera so we're going offroad to do some sledgin in a bit.

had a fun walk to work this morning it took me about 10 minutes longer than usual, nearly hit the deck about 5 times and slide about 15 metres.

theres about 15 people in the office which normally has about 75.

about 3-4 inches here i'd say, and not letting up either.

If everyone took the day off in bad weather, the country would grind to a halt wouldn't it. There'd be no TV, no electric, gas or water, no internet, no police, no hospitals, no fire service. No shops open. Why should those people have to go to work, but you shouldn't?

It depends how able they're able to get to work doesn't it? My uncle is a paramedic and I just got off the phone to him, he's not in work today either.

Snow here in Putney. We always seem to get snow around this time in London. Luckily the furthest I have to go today is the local Londis. Revision sucks though :(

i work in primary schools, and the two I was due at today are closed so i've got the day off, brilliant! :D

I braved the weather today trying to get to uni...I got up the A2 but turned back at Bexleyheath....could see traffic slowing and didn't relish the idea of sitting for hours on Blackheath, which I've heard is gridlocked.

At least I can say I tried :D

I'm not far from there... Trains were screwed this morning. Probably because the lazy arse train drivers couldn't be bothered to get out of bed rather than the weather :(

Some people cant get to work because of their location. If you live out in the sticks and you have no main roads within 5 miles and then even those main roads are stood still is it worth risking a crash just to try and get there because some people can get to work.

If you live in London you have subway. If you live near to work you can walk. Some of us cant though without high risk of an accidend, and if giving the choice what would most people do... personally ild rather stay at home with my family and have an undamaged car the next day and hopefully catch up on the work i have missed.

There's always a panic when a bit of snow falls because we're not used to it.

Obviously the country shouldn't grind to a halt but I bet if everyone continued as normal this morning, there would loads of problems on the road. So unless your work is essential, it would make more sense to stop in imo.

Mine's essential to me, because I don't get paid otherwise. It's also essential to my employer because the jobs I do won't get done otherwise. I had to drive a bit slower and with more care, and it took longer, but I did it.
