Friend of mine who lives in Northern Ontario (about as close as you get to the arctic) said they measured wind chill of -67 (not sure if its F or C) a few miles from where he lives yesterday.

Just drove home from work, Northallerton is clear whilst Teesside has a covering, got to drive 30 miles back to work at 5.30am tomorrow - not looking forward to it

Just had a 10 mile drive home. Had some sleet which turned into fine snow on the way. Left a slight dusting on the ground. It stopped just after I got in. Clear sky here now.

I was surprised to see a very light dusting of the white stuff on the pavements and cars of Buckley when I walked the dog not long ago, must have been a passing shower as it's clear skies with the odd very high cloud, very clear night, stars looked awesome.
