It's snowing

No snow overnight, it's turned "mild", 2°C at present and the ice is being to melt. Is this the lull before the storm? ;)

Local news was warning of heavy snowfall last night, possibility of being snowed in for a day again, etc.

Woke this morning, not a bloody thing!

National news all night right up until I went to bed at mid-night were saying blizzards due overnight with strong winds and significant accumulations of snow in my area. Even the army were put on standby in Kent.
I woke up to nothing, not even the strong winds! Something must have suddenly changed in the night.

Really starting to have an effect on my job now as I run the collections of waste, and with the paths and back roads being so iced up we just cannot collect in a safe way and we have not has snow properly since Wednesday and its all still here, got a conference call today at 4pm but at this rate it wont melt for another 3/4 days and the Highways authority just wont grit any more roads.

The majority of our whopping 2 inchs has now melted, very disappointed that we got hardly anything AGAIN this year :( - I think I need to move.

Found this outside my house. Awesome! :D

It looks like its all over, warmer air is making its way in from the nroth sea and continent; the big high we had stuck has shifted further east.

Didn't drop below zero here last night, loads thawed through today.

Ah well, it was fun while it lasted.

Im just desperate to wash my car, its filthy.

For a detailer this is not good :(

EDIT: LOL soon as i posted that i look outside the window and snow is coming down thick and fast wtf!

Nope, just a typical British winter. Little bit of snow and a few days of cold (yet mostly not below freezing)...

The 2 inches we had is almost gone now too...

Good job I'm going skiing or I would have been severely ******.

Lucky you, 2 1/2 foot of snow here, currently -10c and the snow has been on the ground for about 3 weeks.

No unlucky. I love snow, which is why I always go to the mountains in winter.:p

Looks like everything is clearing around here. No more white trees from the freezing fog, and the little snow that was here is receding revealing the grass.

That's normally because the rain is the leading edge of a warm front from the Atlantic, the wind is still from the east however so most likely it will just warm up with very little rain/snow.:)

Roads seem a lot clearer today and gladly so. My local gym is on a relatively steep yet gradual hill which turns left at the bottom, heading down it yesterday and my brakes failed to stop on the ice, nearly went straight into an Alfa waiting to turn up the hill, had he not used his initiative and drove out the way things would've been very messy.
