It's snowing

An inch or so in Guildford.

The way people are failing to be able to drive you would think it was 4 feet!

A few cm here in Guildford, not sure how well my BMW will cope haha. Luckily no work for me today anyway hehe :)

Snowy Surrey!!! \o/

*switches on laptop..... Works from home*

I drove to work 25mins, at present I am the only person from my dept in. Even the people who live 5mins away have said they can't make it in.

Sadly for them we have 4x4's as work vehicles, which are currently being sent out to pick people up. Much to their dismay as most of them haven't even left theirs beds yet.

Oh how I laughed.

It's amazing how many people use a bit of snow as an excuse to stay at home. Your company has the right idea, I like that!

I don't know why some people see it as an "excuse" to stay at home. Some companies actually care about their employees and would rather they stay at home than risk having an accident on the way in to work. It's not always about how yOU can drive in the snow, others can't and that automatically puts you at risk.

The thing that makes me laugh is its mostly people who live closest to there work places that always make the biggest excuse that they can't make it to work because they are snowed in yet people who live further away can.
They also seem to be the ones that are always late for work.
I must point out this isn't he case for everyone but there is a large majority that this falls under.

totally agree, we have had about 4cm here, I live the furthest away and just drove through 10 miles of country roads where the snow hasnt been cleared, the one guy who lives 6 mins up the road hasnt arrived yet lol...

Snow has finally hit here, which of course means I fell off my bike twice while cycling to the train station. I'll bring my laptop home tonight :p

**** just got real, it's snowing in London. Ergo the rest of the country must be akin to the Antarctic.

Not quite :p

We had about 6 inches or so and its still lying around, though most roads are clear now. There was a bit of congestion on the morning of the snow but people generally just got on with it. Or walked to work!

I guess its such a rare thing in london people think its aliens or something and panic and stay in bed :p

I'm a contractor. I don't get to work. I don't get paid. simples :p
Also if it was too dangerous I wouldn't have come in or our site would've been shut for the day, like they have done in the past. it's only a few centimetres of snow, so in reality it's not a big deal.

i just drove over to B&Q near where you are.. the roads are clear you lazy git :p

There isn't a B&Q near me, you must still think I live in Farnborough :p

I'm working from home today not because of snow lol. I was going to WFH today anyway because all my colleagues are on holiday / in external meetings, so it's pretty pointless going in just to sit alone in a cold office!
