its too cold

Freezing fog in Sunny Swindon this morning, with black ice forming on untreated surfaces. Not such a struggle to de-ice the car as yesterday but you would think, in this day and age, car manufacturers would come up with a system to put instant heat on all windows. I know some Fords and upmarket models have electric heated front screens but IMHO a basic safety feature that should be on all vehicles!

black ice everywhere in Cirencester this morning too, freezing fog and -2.5deg showing on the car.

Instant heat though as it has a diesel powered booster heater. Fully defrosted in 4-5mins and lovely and toasty inside :)

Much love shown for the quattro system today too, our estate was not gritted. Hills were interesting :O

I hadn't used my car for a couple of days and the ice was standing up.

Been out for a walk each of the last three sunny mornings and it isn't that cold. :p:D
I did a bike ride on Wednesday and going through the patches of freezing fog was interesting. My sunglasses lenses would freeze up, completely blocking my vision. It was pretty cold :p

It's warm in the house and my PC is on the third floor so it gets hot up here. As a result I'm currently wearing a tshirt, joggers and flip-flops. I just took something out to the recycling bin in the front garden and I must have made a comical figure as I tried to nonchalantly stroll to the bin and back trying to pretend like the cold didn't bother me while hardly wearing anything.

Hell it's cold out there! Completely brass balls.

Looks like your thermometer doesn't go low enough

I have been contemplating getting another after taking that photo. On the other hand below -30 it's just ******* freezing, so exact temperature doesn't matter. :D

Very true! Londoners never know how bloody cold this country can actually be. :p

They/we make up for it with the cold attitudes on the tube instead. :p

Its cold under the fog, drove home friday and it was fog from one end of the (south) of the country to the other. Temperature was barely above freezing the maximum it got to at one point was 4c, usually it was 1 or 2c.

Never seen so much fog. Thank the lord it wasn't freezing fog, been in that once and it wasn't pleasant. Can't believe there havn't been more pileups to be honest visibility was barely a few metres in places.

Was fog free here yesterday and quite mild a result.

Wait till that happens on the windscreen of the car and the wipers won't shift it. Then you try in a mistaken attempt to clear it and squirt screen wash over it... oh dear.

-35 today. -46 with the wind chill. The radio were wondering whether we would break -50 , but that may be later in the winter as it's due to warm up to -15 tomorrow.

We had -30 last week and back to +1 now and around 0. It's hellish. Ice everywhere... I crap myself at least once a day as I slip and slide like the foreigner I am.
