It's too hot :(

I do have heat intolerance, undiagnosed ofc but completely obvious to me.

I used to think I had heat/light intolerance but since therapy it seems it's misophinia, i.e. the heat and light bring on more noise which irritates the hell out of me to the point of rage. This was proven again by two girls and a guy making a ****ing stupid TikTok video outside my window for 20 minutes tonight, dancing by the dock and re-doing the video again and again till the 'director' girl was happy with it [it was still ****]. This would never happen in Autumn or Winter.

I hate people.

I can only sleep from 3/4am when it gets cooler. The lack of sleep with the heat is exhausting. I was tempted to buy an air conditioner the other day, but some of the cheaper model reviews put me off, so decided to look at some different fans to try instead.

On the topic of sleep I've had my sleep cycle fixed for a long time now, like yesterday morning I woke up comfortably at 5am, but needed a rest at around 12pm for a bit.

Sometimes when I do try to stay up, if I end up falling asleep at 5am I still wake up by 9 or 10, and then back to normal the following night.

I wonder if its because of the nutrition shakes I've been taking.

If you struggle with the heat just put some ice packs behind a fan, it'll last long enough for you to fall asleep before melting

yeah, the non refrigeration type air con units are not that good, a fan is not that much worse, you are talking £250+ for a 9000btu (bedroom) proper portable air con unit and £300 for a 12000btu unit (large room), but obviously they will get your room down to sub 20 degrees within 30 mins or so, and will give you a very comfortable sleep, albeit the are all noisy, if you can sleep with a Dan on full blast you will struggle, but if you are lucky enough to be able to do that then they are fantastic IMO..

lol, it's 24C out there already and I've only been up 30mins. Fans kept me cool last night, but keeping the curtain open in front of the window where the fans were drawing air in, plus the noise from the fans didn't make for good quality sleep.

Met Office thinks we might have some showers around lunch, I live in hope!

So it dropped to 25.5 by morning from a 27.7 max. But sun is out slept OK but its on my limit!
Worth it though.

You only need it to cool the room before you go to bed, doesn’t necessarily need to be kept running through the night.

I’m in bed for 11 and out of bed by 5 so it really only needs to be kept cool for 6 hours.

If I can get it to 19’c by 11pm, it wouldn’t have warmed up that much as to wake me up through the night.

I may be wrong but that’s my thoughts on it. :p

22c at 8:20am in South Wales and it's been about 20c all night, ridiculous. Bring on the winter :D

26c in Rotherhithe right now, calling for 29c max today.
Bring on the winter? What are you, a polar bear?
Catch yourself an Aeroflot flight to St. Petersburg, Russia, 21c now, max of 23c today,
leave St.Petersburg Florida, 27c now, max of 31c today to we warm weather lovers.
That said, I cracked last night, unable to sleep, I put a bottle of Stolychnya vodka in an ice bucket, put a bowl of ice cubes on the kitchen balcony table, and sat out there in my boxers, waiting for the liquid nectar to carry me off to the land of Nod.

...and 30C in the bedrooms. I've tried every combination over the years to try and cool upstairs down (blinds, windows open, fan placement) but nothing works. Keeping the fans on in all rooms during the night means we sleep ok though, somehow.
