It's too hot :(

Doubt it’ll be anywhere near that hot.
The heatwave, it's coming

I tend to take the BBC forecast with a pinch of salt. When it comes to hot weather it's often somewhere between optimistic and sensationalist. How peculiar for a website that prides itself on clickbait and shares...

I tend to find the Met Office site to be much more reliable. They predict a high of 26C for the next week [for London, anyway].

God only knows what Nathan Rao in the Daily Express would say!

You get a half decent one for £300. How much does a boiler cost? £4k? I know you use that more and in some ways is a silly comparison, but to me controlling the temperature of the flat is very important, £300 is well worth it. I probably use it... maybe 40 to 70 days a year? (I like to be cold/cool) Perhaps the best £300 I ever spent tbh.

I personally wouldn't buy less than 9,000btu. I would worry it wouldn't cope when it gets really hot, which is when you really need it...

Finally looks like summer is here.
About time too. Looks hot for a good while.

That heat map looks like it will be about 30c here.

Good enough for me :p

Actually, I think this talk of 7k BTU got me mixed up, I thought that was 'the low'... when actually I've always thought 9k was the low and I aim for 12k. The one I have now is 12k... but I actually paid £600, so I got all kinds of numbers wrong  (I also have 'Amcor 12000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner for rooms up to 30 sqm' in the living room.)

sods banging on about air conditioners......while some of us are sat with duvets wrapped round us while looking at heat maps lovingly and forlornly. moaning bunch of ninnies :p :p!!
