It's too hot :(

Some people don't pay to go to the heat but to explore other cultures and see different parts of the world. If it happens to be warm then so be it.

I'm one of these weirdos that can sit in the sun happily (with suncream of course - despite being olive skinned I'm careful).

Can anyone recommend any air conditioner that doesn't need attaching to the window, I know these are probably the best but wouldn't have a clue how to attach it to my unconventional bedroom windows, can you get anything for below £350 - £500 way of cooling down, not sure I can get through any more heatwaves like this without some way of cooling the room down.

Also does anyone stick foil to cardboard or that reflective film and attach it to their windows to reflect the sun, I heard it can cause a build up of heat if you do it on the inside, any tips would be greatly appreciated, my bedroom gets the sun first thing and this morning it was unreal at 7 when I woke up, only just managed to fall asleep in early hours and out it popped again at 5.45

Doesn't look like I'll be getting a 99 flake then :(

No - they work by blowing out hot air. You'd be better off with a fan and a pint of water in front of it if you can't use an extraction hose.

Is it just me? If I have a hot drink after breakfast here in this weather, I sweat. No issues with this abroad

whole point is to reflect sun, it works inside or outside

Yeah but it reflects it inside if you have a gap between the cardboard and window and I heard it can crack the window with heat building up, maybe it doesn't it was just someones comment on youtube, I know some people stick directly to the window but wanted something I could just bring out when its like the last two days, don't fancy buying foil and ripping it down all the time.

Doing it inside is far, far less effective. Needs to be on the outside. Once it gets through the glass it's heating up. Heat soaks through the cardboard and foil quite easily and still gets into the room. Better than doing nothing of course, but only going to save you a degree or so. Get it outside and you will stop several degrees of heat getting into the room.

Took me about five minutes to tape some foil in the windows. It's not something you'll be doing too often, just in stupid temps.

I don't attach mine to the window, just poke the exhaust out and close the window in on it.

I was watching TV at lunch and realised I was literally rubbing my hands as my fingers were too cold... (yes, I then turned the AC off for a while)

Yeah that's what I thought, unsure if we have a big enough piece of cardboard in the loft, about 150degrees up there no doubt today so have to have a look tomorrow when its died down a bit, or I might try with plywood.

Doesn't it not let in the outside heat though

All the media peddles now is doom and gloom.

How is there never any consequences for their actions? They keep doing it, they might if ever get a small fine but rinse and repeat they're above everyone else with what can fly.

They keep flying under free speech but free speech isn't a right for a form of terrorizing. Granted it's just words but a lot of people out there do really get stressed over what they hear and read.
