It's too hot :(

Pretty much, its metalized thin plastic film, I think mylar is just a brand name.
Ah nice. I've been looking in to those solar reflective blinds you can get. My curtains just absorb the sun and then radiate it. The curtains are about 6 inches away from me, so it's like being sat next to a huge radiator :(

31c apparently, theres a stiff breeze blowing and humidity is low so feels quite bearable atm and dare I say it, pleasant :o
Yeah we had it 30 today, only said 26 two days ago so miles off again, but yeah outside in it was nothing like that July heatwave, wouldn't say pleasant but at least you could sit in the shade and not feel like you were melting away. that last heatwave in July was like the apocalypse in East Yorks, so humid.

Was it easy to put up and take down, did you just do your hallway or all around the house?
I only did the front door because it's patterned so it isn't like a giant mirror outside. Not sure if I can risk it on the windows, don't know how dangerous it would be. It was more of an experiment today, ideally I'd have something that folds away. You can buy precut window films online though! Looks like the tinted windows you see on office buildings, of course you can get different versions of transparency.

Costa Cambridgeshire were providing a largeish trough for (big) dog owners by the outside furniture - nice gesture;

adult/no-children neighbours put out a small paddling pool - wondering if thats for the smallish dog.

If it isn't for the dog keep us up to date on any funny stuff.

Remember pictures beat a thousand words

38C outside garage door. Full sun again.
:)

Glad I have at least one window upstairs that fully opens, got my fans on the window sill blowing out the hot side of the house, seems to be helping bring the inside temp down.
