It's too hot :(

Got several large fires being fought at the moment 70km North West of us up on the Gironde/Lot et Garonne border.

Crops and vines being destroyed. A proper kick in the teeth for the local soft fruit growers and vintners who’ve already taken a beating due to the late frost earlier in the year.

Worried about my Mum's pond...its gone down by half. :(

EDIT: I do realise there are human lives at stake here due to the weather so please don't strike me down. Give me a bit of credit. Just making small talk.

Just came back from morocco and after spending two months in that heat this weather feels great, I can actually sleep soundly a night. Sleeping in 29c at night time with 80% humidity was a real pain a lot of people sleep on their roofs. In the hotter parts like fes people sleep in the park

My pond is wildlife pond its pretty shaded but if it was going down to empty I'd just top it up, its home to lots of newts so I'd not let it all die.

I wasn't expecting these replies. :o

I thought we wouldn't be 'allowed' to if I am honest...!

Meh, I'd rather save the fish. We'll no doubt have 6 months of rain after all this.

You can top fish ponds up with a hose pipe even when a ban is in place

It seems to vary from company to company, but yes, I read this too.

Because it's not nice, it's bloody awful.

Drought, fires, loss of wildlife, loss of flora, restless children, tetchy adults, abhorrent government, struggling comms room AC and sweaty balls.
Switch off the TV!

You don't need to absorb the Sky News Drought Special, and it'll take a lot more than the sun going behind a cloud to remedy the abhorrent government.

Just grab an ice cream and enjoy it; you'll be whining about the impending beast from the east before your know it.
