It's too hot :(

Cold shower immediately follow by a pint of iced water really helps.

For about 10 mins at least.

I learned a long time ago that cold showers are pointless in extreme heat as you will just feel the heat even more when your body acclimatises back to the temperature again rapidly soon after. A flannel in iced water or towels in the freezer can bring some constant nice relief to give yourself a quick wipe down with but controlling the room temperature is really the only way you can actually cool yourself down properly. A decent air conditioner is a must in Summer these days but they're very expensive to buy and not cheap to run either.

On a similar note, when walking in and out of walk in chillers (2c) in the warehouse does the same thing.

Exactly. The idea is to just give yourself a little bit of light relief from the heat and do it regularly. Getting in a cold shower/bath and bringing your whole body temperature all the way down to a chill only makes things much worse when you eventually get out of the water.

One thing not seen for a few years, damn mosquitoes, hear that high pitch buzz but can never see them and they never seem to land to get them with the fly swatter, also too many dark things in the room make it barely impossibly to see them ever if they did land.

House hasn't really dropped below 25c in 2 days.
I have started sleeping with a sheet rather than a duvet as of last night.

Still loving it though

Is there a regional tracker on mosquito levels (like pollen say) - don't seem to have any in Cambs but don't live near too much water,
but maybe that's a myth as some Med areas/06 aren't near fresh water but have them , but you get used to turning on electric diffuser before bed

Do we get these soon https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...r-mosquitoes-carry-zika-dengue-disease-france - is Paris vs London climate so different.

London is amazing at the moment! Despite not being a city or London fan in general, can't deny the vibe in the summer is amazing.
