Is out and awesome, IMO anyway!

What you guys think?

The new iPod sucks though. It's the same just bigger HD.

Yeh I love that.

iTunes is taking ages though. It took about 20 minutes to do a gapless playback build and now it's getting artwork for about 4000 songs.

I love it and hate it!

Love it:
1) FINALLY! Browse by artwork!
2) FINALLY! auto-album art (shame it's not as high res at iTunes 600x600)
3) Love the new theme
4) Love the "album browse"!
5) Love the new iPod menu, superb!

BUT:
1) My tracks sometimes skip and crack when I scroll through my music which is V.Annoying
2) Why is there no "Music Video" library?
Also why is it called iTUNES now? Surely it's now multimedia so should be called iMedia?

Just installed it and it took ages to install compared to other versions!
Will give feedback in a mo, windows is updating....

EDIT: It is very good! It loads quicker than previous versions and the album browse thing is cool. 1 problem, my browse button has gone :(

Where is this? I have a video and am interested in a new iPod menu.

EDIT: Found iPod games availible to buy on 5th gen iPods! Click Edit, Prefrences, General, Click Show iPod Games. Enjoy!

How awesome is it when you plug your iPod in! It is SO much easier choosing which playlists/videos etc you want to copy to your iPod. It is far more organized!

And what is up with the lack of "Music Videos"

Exactly my thoughts! Why do people wonder why Apple rules the digital music scene? iTunes is simply fantastic, WMP11 looks so pathetic compared to it. I wondered why there was no "Music Videos" library

WTF?! It keeps happening! My tracks keep scratching and skipping and sometimes they go fuzzy and messed up (all of them) so I have to restart iTunes? Also......
Holy Moly!

This is utter crap

I disable the ipod service as I dont want it on all the time, and disable iTunesHelper from starting up in msconfig

And then it reinstalls itself to put everything back.

Never done this with any other version of iTunes. So going back to 6.2, best version yet imo

iirc, they did have Music Videos section but their was a bug where you set something as a music, it would disappear from the menu but it would still be on the ipod, you just couldnt access it.

WMP11 is pathetic compared to this.

After 7 attempts, Apple have finally nailed it.

I've also managed to organize all my TV shows into seasons/series which is fantastic. I've just bought "Crazy Golf" so I'll let you lot know how it plays on my iPod video.

So what can Apple do to improve iTunes? I believe the key is personality. Things like "Top 50" Winter/Summer/Autumn etc playlists. I wouldn't mind iTunes throwing a couple of facts at me like too. Online profiles would be cool too, or perhaps just a page that lists all your favourite songs and playcounts.

finally, how awesome would the new song navigator be if it was implemented onto an iPod!?

Have you restarted your computer?

Did you interfere when it was building the "gapless play" graph.

Less memory usage (Look above!!) and stop my tracks going funny?! Am I the only one experiencing this? Can the games be played on a normal 5G iPod?

No? I left it to do it's business and yes I've restarted. In order to stop the tracks going funny I have to restart iTunes, it's really annoying. The sound quality isn't as good either (keep getting crackling)

I have no problems now. It said the games would work but I haven't tried it yet as iTunes is taking ages to sync my 5G iPod.

I have over 8000 songs/videos and my iTunes is only taking 108mb in memory.

Edit - Oh, and the other 200mb in VM :)

How much ram do you have? I have 2gb so maybe it's just iTunes taking more as there's more? Unless you have 2Gb :p

I'm actually thinking of completely rebuilding my iTunes from scratch. I don't really need the high-res album art I use (600x600) so I'll just use the auto-album art now (as it's high enough anyway) The only thing I would also like iTunes 7 to do is add lyrics by default as well, possibly implement a kareoke like option? :p

48.46GB :D

That's another great idea actually. Although I haven't had great luck with the auto album art thing. I'd already done most of the album art manually so I haven't noticed any changes.

I wonder if someone will hack iTunes 7 to download the full-res album art? I mean you have to have an iTunes account to get the auto-album art so it's downloading and resizing them from the iTunes store (where you can get 600x600) You think it will happen?
