ITV Football coverage

iTV coverage feels rushed as I guess they are desperately trying to bring in the revenue from the adverts they show. Which for me makes their punditry the weakest as they have less time to get their points across.

Logan is a decent presenter and I do like jimmy floyd as a pundit. But Jol on 5live has been the best pundit, for me, so far. One thing I do want from pundits is them giving their opinion straight even if I don't agree with it and not just agreeing with everyone else.
 
I've not been too impressed with ITV this time round, then again I've never really liked their commentating team either especially John Motson. The one thing I do find funny is the smug look on Lineker's face every time England win, like he's found a packet of Walkers. :)

Didnt hear it, but could they have been being sarcastic?

I'm still preferring ITV's coverage to the Beeb. The adverts dont bother me at all, it gives me the opportunity to quickly do other things around the house.

Despite the fact that Lawro is absolute rubbish, he doesn't annoy me as much as watching ITV and being told to log onto their website every five minutes.
 
yeah i agree, has anyone noticed the sound quality from ITV? on normal "stereo" mode, on itv i can barely hear the commentary (which is not necessarily a bad thing :D ) above the crowd noise, whereas on bbc it seems to be actually stereo and fairly normal and audible? or maybe it's just me and my tv?

but yeah, itv coverage sucks compared to bbc, apart from Motson and his inane statistics.

My favourite part was when the spanish defenders were passing the ball between each other, and David Pleat piped up with "the Spaniard could do this all day and the Ukranians would never get near the ball"

Of course mid sentence Shevchenko intercepted a pass. In your face Pleat (does it annoy anyone else how he is incapable of pronouncing player's names correctly if they are the least bit foreign :mad: )

He and Dreary Drury have to be the worst commentary partnership in history, and the way Drury always seems to find a tenuous link to the 1999 Champions League final in every game he commentates on really grates

Foreign? Heck he can't even pronounce ex-players he has managed! He's a dirty Kerb Crawler.

Or press the red button, or boasting about what other 'top' games they have coming up, or winning a 'unique' opportunity to see england play, or win some other crud competition, etc :mad:

Also just remembered the ITV adverts for the summer season, showing what they have on, including the world cup. And the advert finishes by saying "only on ITV" or something like - oh really, i can only watch the world cup on your excuse for a tv channel can I??

Argh and don't get me started on World Cuppa, anything that Clive Tyldsley describes as "irreverant" is something I'd rather rip out my own eyes than watch

true, I like how he went too far the other way in the Paraguay game, pronouncing Bonet with a ridiculous french accent. Tool :p
 
The best bit had to be the England lineup with the computer images of them in their positions, Gareth Southgate talking us through it, 'and Joe Cole", no put yer glasses on mate thats ******* Stevie G, he well ****** it up after he got to there. :D

Pfft.. that's nothing. Did you see the superbowl. I gave up after 30mins of attempting to watch some american football as I'd seen about 25mins of adverts interspersed by 5mins of actual play :?
