ITV Player - Terrible?

The best quality (legit) streaming channel I've seen so far is RT (you need to watch the whole advert before you click HD at bottom of the video) https://www.rt.com/on-air/

iPlayer's live channels are a joke in comparison, ITV just lol.

Yep rubbish quality, Especially if you are sat fairly close to the screen.

Surprisingly it is a bit better on Sky Go but still looks terrible compared to BBC's offering.
 
Iplayer is still a bit poop. Caught up on top gear in supposed HD, but it looked it was starved in bitrate and got a bit pixilated on fast paced scenes. I remember it being better than this. I copy that I acquired was so much better in quality and it was about 1.2 GB in size. God knows what size the iplayer copy was.
 
All 4 really annoys me with their advertising model. It crashed 45 minutes into a show and so I had to skip through to find the part I was at. Except every time I skipped, even a second, I had to watch 2 minutes of adverts. I gave up in the end.
 
Wanted to watch the Poland vs Germany game last night. The quality was so bad I just turned it off and played Overwatch instead :|

It's 2016 and both BBC and ITV are showing like 480p awful streams for the football :(

The bbc one is in HD? just goto http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/

It is adaptive streaming so it will switch resolution if your internet is slow or you aren't watching in fullscreen. It's just ITV who can't display even 480p. Will be trying TVCatchup or the other links posted next game.
 
Google something called acestream, then google something like soccer streams reddit.

I don't see how this is illegal since you're only watching something on BBC or ITV anyway. Excellent quality for the football matches.

bbc live stream is 960/540. and thats what its catch up stuff streams at when not set to full screen, when you go full screen it jumps to 720p. its dire that with 4k streaming out there the bbc cant manage 1080 on its catch up and 720 on live stuff. as for other channels it seems to be hit and miss from show to show.
 
Haven't watched the few things I did watch on ITV player (the odd sport thing) since they brought in blocking browsers using adblock software. I'm not desperate enough to employ my brain trying to get around it as their coverage of stuff is generally quite poor anyway.
 
the ads are annoying enough but then you're in bed almost ready to sleep and theres an "interactive" advert which requires you to click which advert you want!

and I'm watching on my pc monitor which requires me to get out of the bed and walk over to the desk.
 
I moaned in the thread for the Germany/Ukraine game about the quality of ITV's stream being so bad and I moaned 2 years ago during the world cup about ITV's stream being so bad.

At least ITV is consistent. But seriously ban all sports coverage on, ITV.
 
I'd much rather they give the option for others to broadcast it too, so we don't have to rely on their ****** streaming page/channel.

To be fair TVCatchup is a shadow of its former self, Mainly down to ITV & other companies taking legal action against them.

I find if I set my location to Scotland on the BBC player it will give me 1280x720 in full screen, any other location it gives me slightly above 480p. Zeed gives the best streams for ITV ;)
