ITX upgrade - critique my build

I recently got a Ryzen 7700. Came with what looked like a pretty good air cooler in the box. I fitted a giant noctua but as I chucked the amd one away, I wondered if it might have been sufficient.

Been reading some poor comments for the Corsair SFX PSU and given the lack of high power SFX options with OCUK have ordered up an Asus ROG Loki 1000w instead

Once everything is ordered I'll post the final kitlist and once built I'll either post here or on a build log thread.

And why is this is on my thread?

I wonder if @Swatmat is sharing the excitement at building a new system in the new Dan case.

What you think of the SF750 he chose? It used to be a nobrainer because of how well it handles GPU transients but there are more suitable options available today like the one you chose.

I already have two SF750s and I'm thinking of using both in a O11 Mini to power two 3090/3090TIs for AI inference. Reading about melting dual PSU adapters and fire hazard has dampened the mood a little but I think it's probably worth doing it with the right dual PSU adapter. :D

I went sf750 because optimumtech can’t recommend them highly enough

After doing some reading it does seem like the SF750 should be up to the job, although i would get a higher wattage.

Cooler: Arctic Liquid Freezer II 280mm AIO
Case: Dan C4-SFX - Black
Will that cooler fit in such a small case?

Should have made their own thread instead of highjacking yours.

I agree.

A 750W rated PSU with peak usage at ~80% and GPU transients potentially reaching ~110% is the job.

The SF750 shutdown load is reported to be ~825W and transient protection is reported to be above 900W which makes it still not a bad choice until it can't do the job anymore.

The general advice is to prefer ~50% or lower peak usage so for modern high end systems a good 1000W+ PSU is advisable.

Yes, a 280mm AIO does fit in the Dan C4, but I went for simplicity - my current system is AIO and the extra money and periodic top-up hassles are not worth it for the gain imo.

I went with the Loki on the basis that the SF750 is no longer available and its replacement is getting panned by almost everyone. I could have saved £40 with the 850w version, but went for future proofing with "moar PSU" :D

Hey all,
Quick question regarding the C4-SFX case, does anyone know when it'll be back in stock? I ordered all my parts for an ITX build and did the preorder on the case, but wondering if I should just build it in my current case if its got a long time for restock or wait for the C4-SFX to arrive if its only going to be like a week or so?
Cheers

Your gonna have to give Overclockers a call to find out delivery but I would definitely build up your parts to test.

Yeah that was my thinking, I've already put the GPU in the older pc to test. I'll probably bang it together tonight, still waiting on the SF750, but I've got pretty much a brand new RM850x in the older pc. I'll give Overclockers a ring, was hoping someone there that might have see this post.

Post here if you find out anything please

Just given them a ring and they haven't got an ETA on them. Apparently the Product manager is in talks to get more stock. They said it's likely to be multiple week :(
