iv finally done it, iv downgraded my connection! making it £7 cheaper for 'practiccally' the same connection speed :)
why???...

virgin media suck, they are now capping the 4 mb down to 1 mb at peak times 4pm - 9pm!!! (same as their 2 mb connection) so since i dont really download what i see as 'enough' to justify paying £25 p/m and im only online during 'peak times' i see the 2 mb service as the better option (£18 p/m) + it should give me the exact same ping/laterancy on games which is the main usage for my connection now :) so i now see it as: 1 point to virgin media - 2 points to me :D lol

just thought id share that on here, and wondering if anyone else has done this (or similar) with their connection

So your 3 points down according to your system :/

I get XL TV, Phone and 4MB internet for £22 pm and think that Virgin do a sterling job

iv seen all these 'deals' their doing, but their not forever, after a year or whatever it is youll be paying the seperate price per service sadly :(
so; £25pm for your 4 mb connection, £20.50 for XL tv, £11 phone (assuming your on 'M') = £56.50 :(

Erm nope £22 pm for 12 months then i will get a better deal off them

Ive been with Telewest/Virgin for about 7 years never paid more than the year before :)

Yea you can get better that £18 a month for 2mb - thats what we was paying then when in town one day there was a guy from virgin advertising 3 for £20 so he upgraded us to it.

Well, it's 6pm and I'm still getting my full speed. I have noticed throttling on occasion, but not for months (that's in Liverpool). So afaik I have no reason to complain atm.

will they do that?

I'm currently paying 60+ a month for what new custemers get for £30:mad:

Really irrates me since I've been with them since the beginning, been looking to change but going to a btline is a pita.

Just ask for a re-contract.
Even the Asian lad did me a good deal but I wanted to keep my 4 meg broadband so he patched me through to a Scot.
I ended up getting 20 meg broadband with my TV and Phone package for £35.

I'm only paying £17pm for the 4MB connection with Virgin :) It was a bit crap for a couple of nights but now seems even better than normal.

Get throttled pretty much every day on XL, cant complain though we probably download 50gb a week here! (6 Of us in student digs) Better than having a usage cap thats for sure.
