I hope you didnt have your home address as 'HOME' on the gps :o

Damn, never thought of this. I don't have my address on mine, just the location bookmarked because I'm useless at directions. Think I will re-bookmark it down the street or something :)

Sorry for being a keyboard warrior but this has happened to my parents a few times and I honestly hope the brats responsible either get some very nasty disease or get run over and die a horrible death. Absolute scum

Did you ask for CCTV at all. It was probably someone parked next to you ?

CCTV at tescos car parks is generally aimed at the exits (inc fire exits) and cash machines. NOT at the carpark itself

It doesn't even really help hiding it, if they can see you have a nice stereo ect, they'll break in and check glove box, boot, door pockets and leave with nothing, or if they find it then rip out the stereo :(.

Or maybe that's just a Bristol craze.

sorry to here that, it really does suck and the police dont even take finger prints

The two officers that came out were pretty good, they made note of a couple of things in the glovebox that had a shiny surface and made that known to CSI. They asked me if I would be available to take the car to them and I said that I would.

Today CSI called and said "errr... yeah.... um.... was it parked outside" thought the Tesco carpark bit that he had just mentioned when he first spoke to me gave that away. "well it was raining so.... er.... theres probably no point"

Its not like it is on the telly thats for sure ;)

LoL get horatio of CSI:MIAMI to come down :D

/Looks at Lordrobs motor with a sideways glance while removing sunglasses :D

Happened to me at a hotel a year or so back, I used to take my pda with me all the time, but this time i got lazy and left it in the car, some other blokes brand new jag got done the same night.

Funny thing was, i came down to breakfast this morning and overheard people talking about a break-in, i sat down chomping on my oats thinking poor bugger........oh well we live and learn.

I've always left the sat nav cradle in the windscreen, but I leave my glovebox open and empty when parked up (on advice from the local police). Touch wood, no thefts so far. The gf also does this along with my family. So far so good...

My satnav is my phone, so it goes with me wherever, no worries there. I also normally remove the faceplate on the stereo, but put it in the glove box as I can't be bothered to go around town for a day with that lump in my pocket. If staying somewhere overnight, then the faceplate goes with me though...in a place like Tesco it stays on the stereo, too much effort to move it.

My car has inbuilt satnav and in there are 2 memory points saved, work and home. Well the street my work is on and the village's main high street for home :D Good luck finding my house if you steal my car :D

Feel for you mate, its a worry definately. I have the Garmin which has a pin code on it so even if they do get it I can feel happy that they cannot use the thing :)
That would take all of 5 seconds for them to get round. ;)

Really? Not found anything on removing the lock other than driving to the correct location, entering the PIN or sending it back to Garmin from a quick search on some of the more "dubious" sites in my bookmarks.

Although TBH its never ever left in the car.

I have one of those Brodit clips but it's too much of a pain to keep pulling it off and reattaching. I think I'll leave the glove box open and empty in future tbh. Been lucky so far although having the car alarmed probably helps.
