About four days ago I dropped a full liter of double cream bottle, which split and emptied onto the floor. I cleaned it up, shampooed the carpet, fabreezed it, had the carpet (that thin polyester carpet tile like stuff) up and scrubbed the floor boards (no carpet underlay) but the smell is still there. It is rancid! It smells like vomit and cheap perfume and is gag inducing.
So, has anyone got any idea how to get read of the smell. There is no visible trace of the cream, just the smell. Please help my poor ikle nose and in the mean time I'll learn to control my cream spillages :D .

Quick look on Google and 'Nature's Miracle' seems to be coming up a few times. Its used to clean up mess made by pets and uses living enzymes to dissolve the proteins causing the smell

My cat wizzed in my car on the way to the vets a couple of summers back. It smelt foul. I removed the rear seat and hozed/disinfected/scrubbed etc for ages and ages. It didn't get the smell out at all. It still stank a year later, but has since cleared away. Just.

Apparently Borax works well for milk/wee/vomit. Should be able to find some in a hardware shop.
Urine Odors

Urine odors on mattresses and mattres covers may be neutralized by dampening the spot and sprinkling borax over it. Rub the borax into the areas and let dry. Brush or vacuum to remove the dry borax. One brand of borax, 20 Mule Team Borax, is found in the laundry department of grocery stores. Pet urine and sour milk odors can be neutralized using the same process.

a friend was making egg sarnies for a charity thing or the like so decided to do them in a pressure cooker - realiseing he had forgot the mayo he popped down the shop, got delayed at the pub and came home a few hours later to find the kitchen well and truely re-decorated with an egg shell theme - now that stunk, and the carpet they had in there just wouldn't shift.

In the end a carpet layer friend recommended taking the gel from one of those oder nutraliser pot things and put wipe it under the carpet where the problem is - hoover over it and the stuff coming up through should clear the smell :) apparently works wonders!

I remember an ex gf and me had this problem after some 'fun' with squirty cream. The whole room smelled like off milk afterwards.

She was cleaning it up for ages :p

Awesome thread!!!

I find the squirty cream goes off quick once you've "applied" it. Custard is where it's at.
