I've gone Bavarian! 2015 428i Gran Coupé

Latest fill up gave me 33.66MPG so I am getting about 10% better economy from Super compared to E10. Car had an oil change at a local trusted indy, I purchased the oil separately (£34 from Opie for 5L Petronas Syntium) and this was done for £89.20 including the filters and disposal so around £125 compared to the £198 BMW wanted. Other than that nothing else has gone wrong.

can't see a car park picture in any browser ...
what is the average speed you had for the 33mpg - your earlier post suggested ~ 200miles a week, which doesn't sound too stop start.
It’s not really. I have a pretty straight run through to work, 40mph single carriageway and it’s only 3 miles or so If I go direct, 4 if I drop off my laddie at his work, a mile in the other direction. Then I have a 45 mile round trip twice a week on motorway and dual carriageway With a little bit of town driving in the middle. I’ve been tracking the mileage since 11/07/21 when it was on 30,917 miles. Last fill up was 02/05/22 on 37,398 miles so likely around 9k miles a year.

Changed the air filter. Despite FBMWSH before I got it the filter may have been the original, manufacturer date was 02/2015. New one in, took 25 minutes, some trouble with the cover but all done now.

How are you finding the car, now the honeymoon period is over? :)
Is still very enjoyable. Some good pace when needed and a nice snarl in Sport. Handling can be a bit fussy over some poor roads too but it has the M-Sport suspension so not surprising. I was considering a change a few months ago but now, I think, I will be keeping it as planned.

Everything is still working, no issues to report.

Brake Fluid changed at the insistence of the OBC. £41.40 including the Fluid!

Last fill up was a bit down on MPG, 29.57 when I usually get 31-33. Not sure why, but a thought in my mind that the fill might have been standard E10 put into the Super tank by accident at the petrol station. Average MPG across the whole ownership so far is 31.42mpg.

They are basically the same number in terms of fuel economy. There are so many variables that will affect it that 1.5mpg across a tank is simply not significant and means nothing.
Tracking on my fuelio app has seen a pretty consistent +10% better economy from Super compared to standard E10 Unleaded and that's across 8-10 fills.

So went to Newcastle from Central Scotland to see The Pretty Reckless in concert with my laddie. They were really good. Band was so tight, sound quality was great and what a voice she still has! Car was faultless, comfortable and easy to roll along on the speed limit on the cruise control. 46MPG too at an average of 56mph on the way back

I also had the car valeted by an old work colleague who has moved into that side. It was far from a full detail, there was no polisher involved, random orbital or otherwise but he did a cracking job of the wheels especially and it hasn't been that shiny since I bought it!

Noticed some stone chips on my drivers door edge and on the bonnet. Are the touch up kits any good? Which is the best one to use/try? Also I didn't realise quite how bad the wheels are around the rim. I've not been dragging them along kerbs or anything but they're quite pitted and scored in places.

New Tyres have entered my thoughts, debating ditching the Pirelli runflats but I cannot fault them. They're a bit noisy it's true but nothing massively intrusive and I'm considering a small boot spoiler and perhaps even a new 'diffuser' at the bottom too. There's really not much visual drama, M-Sport version or not.

Anyway, it's been faultless again since the last update, nothing has gone wrong and long may that continue.

Recommended getting the gloss black grille. It totally changes the look of the car and makes it look more aggressive in comparison to the chrome grilles.
I'm also looking at getting the rear diffuser. The cheapest I can find is £280 for a genuine part but don't know whether it's worth it lol.
I've had some recommendations from people on Facebook and there's quite a few very cheap ones on ebay too. I may just go for both from them.

I've never been a fan of the black grilles. Not sure why really but I've seen loads of photos and am just not convinced.

I know some of you may disagree I've always thought the M Sport rear needs a bit of drama. So I added some.

I also have a new rear diffuser to be added too.

Looks good! In tempted to do a few bits to my m140 but the problem is everyone uses the same maxton kit and I don't want mine to be the same!
I must admit I wasn't quite 100% sold on it, thinking it was perhaps a bit too big, but now it's been on the car for a few days I really like it. Improves the look no end.

Let me know how you get on with fitting it.
I also managed to snag one off the bay arriving sometime next week.
Mine is non-oem for £40 which will either be an absolute steal or a total waste of money lol
I will do. I have a friend who has a lift as I don't fancy crawling about under the car at the moment!
