I've only gone and done it - I've bought an MG! (Pics inside)

Thats a lot of money for a Rover 25 with no aircon. I thought these things were supposed to be cheap now Rover went bust?

Just today on the bay, a Coupe Turbo went for £2600 and a Vitty Sport went for £1400. :)

Congratulations on the purchase of your Rover.

I hope your many journeys to the shops for teabags and worthers originals are as noneventful as possible.

I sure could go for some worthers original right now.

As for the car, not my kinda thing.

interior is nasty, very dated but other than that looks tidy on the outside

Oh yes - it's almost enough to put me off! It was much improved on the facelift though

I laughed when I found heater controls from my Mum's 1994 216 and indicator stalks from my Dad's 1984 213!

Nice car, I really liked them until what happened to my sisters boyfriend one, which had the power cut out at ahem mph and left them soo close to being killed. The RAC guy got it going again but the engine was really weak, so they sold it on the way home.

Sorry to hear that - at least they didn't get hurt!

i dont get these mg's they are good value for money i gues, but they are just bubble shape 200's withstuck on tat. o well whatever floats ya boat i gues. i wouldve rather got a coupe turbo myself:)

Sorry, missed this post before.

I'd much rather have a GSi Turbo. Everybody has a Coupe Turbo these days. :p

With regards to the HG, don't let any numpty garages service the car. Either take it to a Rover dealer or do oil/coolant changes yourself.

I know it's a bit much, but 6k for the oil and 10k for the coolant. :)

What exactly cut out? If the engine dies you still have brakes and steering, just they're not assisted.

I bet the HG went :p

A friend of mine got one of these. She wrote it off within a week. One down, how many to go? (she's ok btw)

Glad to hear she's OK

Hope that doesn't happen to me - I've only just written off my Astra in Jan!

Thats becuase Coupe Turbo's are special - genuine performance cars.

And not to mention everybody having one.

Tell you something though Fox, I'd much rather have a Vitty than a Coupe.

They're so quick for the size! So much fun to be had :D

Esentially the same as my Rover 200 which I think looks OK but the interior is pretty shabby.

The K series engine is actually designed to to be good at low revs so I have never understood why they dump it in sportier cars, even the Elise I have never understood.

Nice on the outside and decent performance but that interior is pretty shocking for a 52 plate. No wonder they were desperate to invest in new models.
