I've redesigned my site, what do you think?

Sorry, I don't think you'd ever get that from me, I love my white space real estate, keep things nice and airy :p

Oh, and I have so many conflicting ideas with this I might just create a splash page and say "choose your style" :cool:
 
The old tab style navigation looks a lot better than the boxes now - maybe some semi-transparent tabs instead?
 
Not going to comment on the asthetics as many people with a lot better skills than I have already done so.

My single critism is your manner in the text. Imo you should replace sentences such as "I designed this site...." with "The site was designed...." giving a more proffesional tone to your business. The descriptions in your folio also seem abit samey, would be abit better if they were more unique and descriptive imo.

Agree.

For the design, how about something a little more like this ? Not sure myself about the gradients bordering the content though, just an idea.
 
I have always been a fan of the 3 column layout and you have implemented it very well.

In the new design, the one in the link in the first post, I don't really like the whole look too it, there is contemporary....but you have gone a little further....more into 'old fashioned', mainly being aimed at the header, so I do prefer your old header.

With regards to the buttons for the navigation, they look good as they are, but when the a:hover is activated, the pinkish/red doesn't look very good so those definitely need attention.

I also had a look at some of the work in your portfolio and I have to say, some of the designs are very good.

Sorry if some of what I have said has already been mentioned or had your attention.

oo the mouse-overs are a bit .... fuschia and the background on the header is a dead ringer for the wallpaper in a pub near here :eek: s'ok though (kill the pink!)
 
Like the new site a lot Tom. my only qualms are the top navigation and the pink.

I like your crap-curtain texture you've used in the new header. Are those photoshop brushes? If so, link me up :)

Things will change, I tried it but didn't like the positioning, I'll get round to it... :p

The new website is nice but you should really change the navigation buttons.

Maybe move the nav button away from the banner and place the old logo?
Also do you have to keep the global nav button so big? I was told by my HCI teacher it is bad design and main link buttons should be small.

The background image is alright but doesnt do anything for me.
 
The new design looks really nice, I like it. :) However the navigation buttons are somewhat "unfitting".

What do you think of this?

Can you change "Why Choose You?" to "Why Choose Me?", please. Seeing that makes my head spin.

Unless you really are asking me to question why I should choose myself.
