Ivy Bridge...How much?

i7-3770K will be around £249.99 inc vat mark according to Kitguru. Around the same price as current i7-2700K. So if I go for i7, I will wait for i7-3770K.

I'm expecting I5 to come in around £170 mark with some initial discounting making it nearer £150. I don't think the reviews posted yesterday really gave buyers enough information about how these chips perform on average. A lot of reviews seemed to use ES samples and I read on some sites ES chips clocked better than retail and others that retail clocked better.

The simple truth is that the early buyers will be the guinea pigs, so they deserve a good price.

I hope that is the case the director, but I just can't see it. The 2500k can be had for less that £150 delivered, so if the 3570k came in around the same price, I'd be incredibly happy (I bought a Z77 UD5H from OCUK the other week) as I'd prefer one of those over a SB, but I think it will be more in the £170-180 ballpark :(

apparently a site advertised them for a few mins by accident.. showed 250 in stock.

how true that is i cannot say as i didnt see it myself. Going from the CPU prices currently though it doesn't seem too far off

There's no need to guess - the prices (once things have settled) will be similar to previous SB prices i.e. £160-170 for 3570K and £240-250 for 3770K. Any more and it's just because it's new and right now you have the discounted SB option.

There will be a whole range soon if you want less cores or lower TDP, and it's hardly worth worrying about a tenner when Z77 motherboards vary by £100.

If that's the price for the 3770k, then you're looking around £170-180 for the 3570k

Sandy it is then. No wonder they're keeping quiet about the prices.
