As said in the other thread, these are leaked roadmaps. Where is the official statement from Intel?
A similar roadmap was leaked nearly 3 months ago:

4930K it is then![]()
Wouldn't a new socket for Haswell-E also be a good time to incorporate DDR-4?
damn youd think they would release an 8 core by then - they're reporting the 4930k and 4960x are still 6 cores, the 3930k has been out for ages. its time to move up to 8 cores intel!

It's especially funny that the Samsung Galaxy S4 is rumored to have an 8 core version in certain countries.
ARM though.
No where near as powerful per core.
Of course but by the time Intel entertain consumer grade CPU's having 8 cores it will be standard in popular phones so the list of excuses (e.g. yields) is getting less plausible.
What I find the most interesting here is that the 3820 is being replaced by a 'K' series chip, fully unlocked multiplier on everything IB-E by the looks of it
I Promised my self the absolute top line of IB-E so 4960X it is![]()
Last I saw that was rumored for Q2 kaap, though with a Q3 date on ivy I'm a little doubtful it will materialize.
