Why are there no Jails for people with Disabilities?

Im asking this because my girlfriend is a carer and she has to work with this ****** who Stole a Car then proceeded to give him self a slight bit of brain damage when he crashed it and got him self a good behaviour bond(Asbo or something similar over there i would imagine)

Then sometime a while back(after the car accident hes put some guy in a comma by picking up a shovel and hitting him in the face with it numerous times.
He had his court case last week and what did he get? Another good behaviour bond

The reason why he didnt go to jail? The Judge said he should be in jail but he cant put him in jail because he would be killed because of his slight brain damage and his epilepsy.

So why isnt there a Jail to lock these ****** up so they can serve time with out gettign killed? Instead of giving them bloody Good behaviour bonds over and over again!

FULLY STAR OUT SWEARIES

Well, it appears to be because it's "inhumane" to treat a disabled person that way. I don't see why they do get so much special treatment, when it is wrong to treat them differently unless it's in a really beneficial way to them.

Funny how disabled people used to be given to science, burned, maimed, left behind to die, not fed, rejected etc. and now it's wrong to punish them like you would punish a similar able person.

christ! where did that happen mate?

:(

I've never thought about it but I'm sure they do jail disabled people, whether physically or mentally, if they commit sufficiently serious crimes. The judge in this instance sounds like too many of the ones here in Britain.

Does the law not say mentally ill people are not/cannot be deemed responsible for their actions?

if he didn't understand what he had done is immoral and wrong then why bang them up? For the satisfaction of the victim?

Just playing devils advocate, pretty messed up situation. :(

Exactly, teach them it is wrong by doing the exact same thing back to them.

*grips his shovel* harhar..

If that was the case then the judge wouldn't have punished him at all would he.

Im not sure we he bashed the guys head into but he now lives around South Western NSW.

My girlfriend said he has major anger issues and has been told by the courts that he has to do anger management classes. For the 2nd time :(

Before he had to have 24 hour surveillance aswell and wasnt aloud to leave his carers sight. and most his carers are women and he contently gropes them
Im extremely ****** off at the moment because he tryed to push my GF into the Spare room today while trying to grope her

They could at least use Security Guards to watch him and not bloody respite carers :(

Mentally disabled people will be simply admitted into a psychiatric home, no?

Physically disabled just have their brakes glued on. Simple.

My girlfriend sat in the court case(it was her shift to watch him) and she said the judge was a hard **** and made him stress enough to black him out from his epilepsy 3 times.
Guys like this need to be locked away some how if they cant be put in a regular prison

BTW he cant sence when hes hungry cold or hot either becaus eof his brain injury and wont eat unless forced

Err...to stop them doing to someone else????

That not prison then is it. But you could use the prison service to effectively throw him away for a few years.

No argument from me. I don't know why he wasn't jailed but the facilities must exist in Australia as they do here.

I'm not sure what you are getting at? If you commit a crime, and are put in prison, then you won't be able to do it again, especially if you are in solitary confinement?

Well i can only assume he had to hand out some kind of sentence to fill a quota then.

Different views on Prison i guess, i see it as rehabilitation, you see it as the place where the scum goes till they are paroled and start the cycle all over again.
