You've got to be kidding me. I have no issues with paying for a developers work but paying $20 each year seems a little extortionate.
That can't be the only option surely.

To be honest, the tweaks and packages get released and updated that quickly, its hard to keep track. Your best bet is to google "best cydia apps 2012" and see what you get.
I use TetherMe, which just enables the iPhone's stock hotspot/tethering feature without you having to have a tethering package. It doesn't have the advanced features of MyWi, but it does the job and it's only a couple of quid.

I pay 10 a month tmobile and I get unlimited tethering hotspot.

Oh look at that... thanks! I get confused with Cydia, I'm guessing it's content doesn't purely rely on the sources you add to it.

The content of Cydia does depend on what sources you have setup, although you should be able to access the majority of stuff through the standard sources.
I've tried Swype a few times and never really got on with it. Had a little battle against a workmate once, him on Swype and me using the standar iOS keyboard and I beat him consistently.
Well deleting a re-downloading worked. I did that for all three apps... however new updates have arrived for others and they are also refusing to update.
This weekend I kept getting a "Device Memory is Full, please click SETTINGS to manage memory" notification appear on screen every hour. I cleared 10 Gig and I'm still getting this message. Even after a hard reset.
What's going on chaps?

Anyone else noticing that Infinidock + overflow is causing safe mode? Annoyingly coz it does a better job of coverflow on the dock than springtomize2 does.
Turns out my app update issue was an unrecoverable error that you sometimes get when jailbreaking. So I'm having to restore now to retry the jailbreak. Shame.
Previously I tried redSn0w 0.9.10b1 and this time I'm attempting sn0wbreeze 2.9.1.
EDIT: Managed to achieve a sn0wbreeze jailbreak but worryingly had to go into DFU mode quite a few times before it would actually install the modified IPSW.
