As racist as it probably is you can't have scousers of that magnitude being allowed to speak on national television. He has got to be a level 9 at least. It will be dangerous for television sets.

He talks well about football but his accent makes it a bit difficult at times :cool: never mind.

I would have hoped he became a coach to be honest.

Disappointed that he didn't decide to stay at the club in some sort of coaching role as he'd have be very useful in helping develop some of the younger players we have.

He'll do well as a pundit though - he understands the game as well as anybody and he's never been afraid of speaking his mind. Not surprised he's joining Sky rather than carrying on from the Euros with ITV - he made the mistake of trying to discuss football with them in the summer, that couldn't have gone down well with Chiles and Townsend.

I'm talking more prime time show like you get with the American sports.

I'm sure they are all decent/good/great but I have never heard of them and I just find it a little strange that with football being the "national" sport there is no real obvious offering.

I imagine that he'll be given some training - Sky aren't absolute idiots, no matter what you might think of some of their pundits. If 90% of the country can't understand him, he wouldn't have the job.
 
The guy lives and breathes football. Plenty of lads I worked with interviewed him and when he wasn't training he was watching football DVDs. He has probably forgotten more about football than Robbie Savage and Andy Townsend know about it added together.

Excellent addition to the Sky team and I am sure their vocal coaches will have him in shape in no time.

But you're a Man Utd fan, you're going to dislike someone that was such a big Liverpool player, it's only natural.

Most liverpool fans would admit that Neville has been a breath of fresh air in regards to punditry. Give Carra a chance.
 
Give him a chance but honestly i can hardly understand a damn thing he says when ive heard him speak so will be interesting to see how he gets on. Perhaps Sky will pay for some elecution lessons for Carragher:p
