A lot of rumours going around right now.

Manchester United still looking to buy and sell in January.

Mata, Jones, Valancia and Young all looking like they could be gone in January or next summer.

Jones facing Man Utd axe

Phil Jones is being given four months to prove his worth to Manchester United. Contract talks have been put on hold as Louis van Gaal is not convinced of the England international’s ability.

Mata on the way out of Old Trafford:

Juan Mata is a target for Juventus after being pushed to the periphery at Manchester United, the Daily Mirror reports. The Spaniard, who moved to United from Chelsea for £37m in January, is the likeliest man to lose his first team place following the arrivals of Angel Di Maria and Radamel Falcao. If Juventus reach the Champions League knockout stages, they could fund a January move for the attacking midfielder. They are also after Antonio Valencia and Manchester City's Matija Nastasic.

Man Utd target Strootman wants January move:

Louis van Gaal's Manchester United spending spree looks set to resume in January with a £25 million move for Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman. The Daily Mirror says the Dutchman is desperate for a move to Old Trafford, and has ditched his agent to join SEG - the group involved in taking Robin van Persie to United. Despite laying out over £150m in the summer, Van Gaal still has money to spend and Strootman appears to ideal addition to anchor his midfield.

Can we have a Man Utd thread and a thread for everyone else this time?

Shaqiri told to wait until January for Liverpool move

Liverpool failed with a late move for Bayern Munich attacker Xherdan Shaqiri in this summer's transfer window but have been told to wait until January if they want to sign the Switzerland international.

Source: Daily Express

Could be a good signing for Liverpool.

How much of a loss are we going to take on Mata and Fellaini? I knew we'd overpaid for mata at the time.

I don't want to see Mata leave. He is still getting settled into the club and finding his role. Same can be said for Fellaini... but then again, it sometimes just doesn't work out, just look at Kagawa.

More today's papers.

Van Gaal ready to axe Mata

Louis van Gaal is ready to sell Juan Mata to accommodate further spending in January, with Arturo Vidal and Sami Khedira on his wishlist. Atletico, Roma and Juventus are all interested in the Spaniard, who is available for as little as £20 million.

Source: Daily Mail

If he goes for £20m then thats a huge loss! We did over pay for him however. Still don't want to see him go as he hasn't really got to his best.

Is he? Even when you have di maria, falcow, rooney and rvp?

I would like to see Mata behind RVP and Falcao rather than Rooney. Di Maria should be on the right or left, we have enough players going through the middle right now. Jose is right about Mata though, he does cause big problems when you need your team to defend. Jose saw this coming.

Juve need Mata more than UTD need Mata at this point in time. It makes sense to move him on but a hard one to accept.

Its a difficult one to figure out. I really don't want to see Mata become a "squad" player. :o

Looks like we have some competition for Strootman.

PSG move for Man Utd target Strootman

Paris Saint-Germain will rival Manchester United in the battle to land Kevin Strootman. The French champions are ready to offer Arsenal and Chelsea target Adrien Rabiot plus cash in an effort to sign the Roma midfielder ahead of the Red Devils.

Source: Daily Express

I think we could lure him to play for UTD rather than going to France.

Manchester City join Rodriguez chase

Manchester City are preparing to make a January bid for Jay Rodriguez, assuming the Southampton ace proves his fitness in the coming months. The England international is wanted as part of the club's drive to recruit more homegrown players.

Source: The Sun

Recruit more home grown players? They have sold a teams worth of English players over the past few seasons.

Its all getting a bit bizarre now.

Real Madrid plot Van Persie swoop

Real Madrid are readying a £20 million January bid for Manchester United's Robin van Persie. The Dutchman has fallen down the pecking order after Radamel Falcao's summer arrival at Old Trafford.

Source: Daily Express

Pecking order? Where are they getting this from? Utter rubbish. We haven't even seen how the new team is going to play.

Man Utd tell Juventus: Give us £30m for Mata

Juventus are keen to sign Juan Mata in January but have been told by Manchester United that he will cost the Serie A side £30 million.

Source: Tuttosport

Looking likely that Mata will go in January. A real shame but I guess it has to be done.

oh papers.

Real Madrid to warn Manchester United that Ronaldo is not for sale

Real Madrid are to warn Manchester United and Chelsea that they have no intention of selling Cristiano Ronaldo. The Red Devils have been linked with a move for their former player but Real want to end the speculation.

Munir has been creating some buzz over in Spain.. could be one of the greatest signings for Wenger if they can get him.

Wenger to raid Barca for Munir & Samper

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is keen to sign Munir El Haddadi and Sergi Samper and could pay £28 million for both Barcelona starlets.

Source: Daily Mail

are we RonaldON yet?

It will happen but not for a good few years. I think he will come back and retire at UTD. Ronaldo could still be a 20+ goals a season well into his mid 30's. He is that good. I really don't see Fifa UT giving him a 65 pace card once he hits 30.

Munir going to Arsenal.

Arsenal to sign Munir

Arsenal will complete the signing of Barcelona starlet Munir El-Haddadi in January after meeting his £9.4 million release clause.

Real Madrid trying to steal Strootman from us.

Sir Alex to help Man Utd sign Ronaldo

Manchester United chiefs are hoping Sir Alex Ferguson's special relationship with Cristiano Ronaldo can be used to lure the Real Madrid superstar back to Old Trafford. The Red Devils have the funds in place to signing the Portugal international.

Kurl would be a good number 2.

Utd linked with Krul move

Manchester United are favourites to sign Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul in the January transfer window. The Dutchman has worked with Louis van Gaal before at international level.

Arsenal do need to sort out their goalkeeper. Szcesney can be good on his day but he makes some really dodgy mistakes at times.

Casillas will make January move to Arsenal

Arsenal are poised to sign Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas with the 33-year-old ready to leave the Santiago Bernabeu for pastures new.

Source: Le 10 Sport

Gunners eye up Casillas: Arsenal could reignite their interest in Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas in January, the Daily Mail reports. The Spain keeper has fallen from grace at the Bernabeu and was whistled by fans in Real's last two games, while Arsenal shotstopper Wojciech Szczesny has been unimpressive of late. The Gunners explored a move for Casillas in the summer, but ultimately decided against taking him to the Emirates. However, the Mail cites French paper Le10sport as claiming they could be tempted to go back in for him in the New Year.

Paper Round's view: Casillas may have won his place back in Carlo Ancelotti's side, but with Keylor Navas now in the mix as well as Diego Lopez, his days at the Bernabeu do seem numbered. The fans' backlash, however inexplicable, only reinforces that view. He is still a top keeper though, and could still do a job at Arsenal - at the very least he could provide competition for Szczesny and make the Pole raise his game.
