Well I just tried the benchmark. It takes up 640mb space once it is extracted.
Fullscreen 1920x1200, No V-Sync - Average 105.27, with V-Sync - Average 59.05.
The benchmark is just two cutscene events and so no real gameplay battle scenes to really see what the game is capable off. Quite a lot of dips in framerates in some areas too, even on the simpliest of scenes so it does not look promising. Watching the No V-Sync test, it was anywhere between 35-151 fps. No texture pop-in from what I can see but the again, these were only scenes and not real gameplay.
Still, it does look quite good, but I just get the feeling even the PC version will not be well optimised, so hopefully Square-Enix are at work with this in the final product. Maybe its just the Unreal 3 engine. I would really have liked to see what the White Engine/Crystal Tools that is used in FFXIII/Versus on PC though.
Far too many people are on the FFXII hate train, but I for one personally enjoyed the game myself. And yeah I do have to say, I barely ever use magic attack spells since once you have powerful weapons, like the Zodiac Spear, it makes them completely obsolete. And I only tend to use the Espers just for the whole "dramatic coolness" effect like trying to get a final shot on a major boss or something, timing it with the music too. When you really look at it though, it is all optional since it offers a huge range of different ways you can play the game.
Yeah that was one of the areas where the framerate just dropped like crazy to the low areas. I mean it didn't really look too special so there must be some really bad coding for the graphics effects there.

I used a lot of normal magic. It's just the espers are pointless. In previous versions they were needed for their power but except as you say for collecting them and seeing them only in this one.
Forget what the linked attacks were called but they were a great idea too once you know what they are about.
Well when its like Curing and Status Magick or certain Technicks, those obviously would still be used.
And yeah those linked would be called Quickenings or Mist Chain/Concurrence.
Those and the Zodiac Esper were the only things in the game that can do 5 digit damage numbers whereas normal attacking, attack magic and the less powerful Espers were the standard 4 digit i.e. 9999, so yeah, most were pretty pointless besides oozing flashy special effects, cool graphics and general time wasting.

yeh probably bad coding, and the texture of it didnt look that good anyway.
didnt play FF12 since i didnt have a UK PS2, and.. i was hooked on mmo's during that time, FF7,8,9 are my all time faves especially 8... loved the juntion system.
I had them on the PS1, not sure if you could maybe play them on an emulator or something, but they were amazing RPG's, the newer ones in the series don't have the same magic as those two though

Thanks for the surgestions guys. Ive just started playing Grandia 1 for the PS1 but im playing it on my PSP (gotta love soft mods lol). And have to say am really liking it, its nice to have voice acting in a game such as this something different from FF7, but still has good characters.
nah.. i didnt like how FF11 looked and i was too busy running my clan and alliance at the time. Havent played an MMO in a while now, back to single player games
I did play the beginning of FF12 on a friends PS2, but got kinda confused with the battle sequences... hence didnt bother playing anymore. I'll probably pick up a PS2 with FF10, 12, and any other rpg i've missed out on later in the year. Got so many PC games to play for now and saving up for a new mini PC build
