Japanese Grand Prix 2010, Suzuka - Race 16/19

Great job by Hamilton. He is certainly the out and out fastest driver in F1. Much like Senna. ;)

The race could well be a snooze-fest as it is dry and the RBR cars are far too fast to be touched by anybody. By rights RBR should get a 1-2 here.

Alonso must do all he can to prevent Webber opening up too big a lead in the championship today.

From what Ferrari are saying, they think that Suzuka is going to be RBR's strongest race of the 4 races left, so as long as he gets through this without giving away too many points, Alonso can attack Webber in the remaining 3 races.

If Webber gets a win today, then the championship could be out of reach of everybody except for Alonso (and Webber), however, I think Vettel should be able to deprive Webber of the win.

Hamilton did a great job, considering everything that's happened this weekend. I know its bad to wish peoples demise, but if webber and maybe even Vettel fall off the track, and Hamilton/Button wins, that would be a good thing, would certainly tighten up the championship battle.

Bloody hell, Di Grassi has made a complete mess of that, looks like he lost it on the outside on the astroturf.

I've always wondered, if anybody knows, they always talk about the gearboxes being sealed, i'm assuming they are allowed to change the ratios? This sounds like a daft question, they must be able to, but they keep talking about them being sealed to it made me wonder.

Well, at least the leaders will have one less car to lap now. Looks to have totalled the car, anyone recon he'd need a new chassis for the next race.

Mercedes mechanics standing around the rear wing, apparently hiding something

DC (to mechanics) - "Do you really think anyone would want to copy that?"

:D

If think they are allowed to change the ratios, seems daft if they're not allowed to. Take Monaco and Turkey - they former needs short ratios, where the straight on Turkey requires longer ratios. Though I think these have to be changed under supervision of the FIA.

DiGrassi looks strange, maybe cold tyres, dropped a wheel onto the kerb or astroturf and then countersteered a bit too much and it spat him off.
