Japanese Grand Prix 2013, Suzuka - Race 15/19

I doubt it would come to that. They have Webber so under the thumb that h would just move over without being told.

Webber is leaving and after the multi21 farce I would image it would be quite tempting to ignore any order.

All the fans would love him even more if he did. :D

Vettel has won the title, this isn't the last race of the season, mathematically others can still win, in reality they won't, it's already won. RBR know that, there is entirely no reason to take a last win from Webber to secure it one race earlier when it was effectively won a couple races ago. What is it 77 point gap, 125 available, I would put money on Alonso not passing Vettel's current total.

Checking skybet, Vettel 1/500 to win, Alonso 66/1 to win, and that is probably being generous.

I think Vettel wouldn't pass Webber here even if he could unless Webber has an issue and Vettel would be losing places or loads of time to stay behind him. Vettel screwed him earlier this year when the title was up for grabs, it's won now but more importantly he knows the reaction the fans would have and the positive reaction giving Webber a win would have in terms of how fans regard him.

I'm not so convinced.
Vettel is a winner. Finishing 2nd is unacceptable.
But, lets waitand see what happens tomorrow.

I'm not sure if I will watch this live, as I know an RBR will almost certainly win. The only unknown is "will Vettel allow Webber to win".

Vettel will lead into turn 1.

What the actual hell?

I'm assuming thats the FIA being super harsh because they realize that giving the guy at the back of the grid a grid penalty doesn't do anything?

He already had a 10-place grid penalty (same as Webber in Korea, for 3 reprimands). The drive through penalty is because he exited the pits under a red light; an offence that drivers are usually disqualified for if it happens in the race.

My prediction for tomorrow,

Vettel shoots of and gets ahead within 2-3 corners.

He pulls out a lead that breaks the DRS by the end of the first lap.

He wins and points that bloody finger down the camera lens.

WEbber for three seasons has had crap starts and Vettel has had relatively crap starts, but what was it, 4-5 races ago the Red Bulls ruddy fixed that as well(that'll be the kers traction control :p just for the conspiracy nuts, what happens if Webber + kers gets a great start and Vettel - Kers has a crap start?).

Webber has had at least one poor start since I think but Vettel into the first corner with Hamilton or other second, for a couple of years he would lose quite a few of those battles or at least be very hard fight into the first corner. The last several races it's been pretty easy into the first corner. I wouldn't be surprised to see Webber/Vettel pretty safe off the start and no real reason to fight Webber into the first corner. Compared to last year when a couple red bulls at the front would be under serious pressure into the first corner and Webber/Vettel couldn't leave space or play it safe with other cars pushing one or both of them backwards.

It's what always seems to happen, have you been watching the F1 this and previous seasons?:p

I think from your wording he thinks you mean his DRS will physically break, rather than Vettel will get away from Webber enough to break the DRS gap....

Which is unlikely but it was pretty obvious what you were saying IMHO.

Does it really matter if Vettel gets in front or not? If Weber is first and Vettel second with Alonso ninth, Webber will get his instructions. The interesting part will be if Weber ignores them, and, tbh, I hope he does..

That seems unlikely, have you been smoking the funny stuff?

That seems a possibility.
Have you not been watching the last few races where Vettel has been able to open up a gap of around 1-2s per lap, whenever he chooses?

The only way I can see Vettel not winning tomorrow is if his car breaks OR, he gives Webber a charitable win. No one can beat Vettel, on pure pace alone.
