I don't know whether to believe this is disgusting or a great thing for immortalising their daughter.

But for the moment I shall go with the former.

Working link

Having read it, it seems like they were going to create a brand named after their child, and wanted to trademark the brand, but didn't get it. However the woman who owns the rights to the name will sell it for a price.

Seems reasonable, i'm sure Jay-Z and Beyoncé has enough money to make an offer that would be accepted. Why do they think they can just take it for free?

Surely a minuscule bit of research before the baby was born/named would have meant that all this would have been avoided??? They could have called her anything that wasn't already protected.

I personally think it's stupid.... trademarking their daughter basically and when there was already a company by that name active two years prior to the birth of said daughter.
